Dan is a successful fitness professional and LA-based entrepreneur. We’ve long been impressed with his work and we asked him to share his top three pieces of advice. Check out his advice below.
NEVER SET LIMITS
Throughout my years of training, what I saw was the main problem for all my clients was their lack of confidence. This is what I tell every single one of my clients and something I want to tell you too. Don’t EVER set any limits on yourself because there shouldn’t be one. I believe that you can exceed in anything you put your mind to, so don’t play yourself short. I want you to TRUST the process, don’t stress about the things you can’t control, do the BEST that you can do, and most importantly, BELIEVE in yourself. It will get hard, but as long as you can get through it, I PROMISE you that you will get to where you want to be!
NEVER NOT EAT CHEAT MEALS
Yep. That’s right…your mind is NOT playing games with you right now. You are reading the correct words. What I mean by this is that you shouldn’t completely cut EVERTHING out of your life for fitness. Whether you want to lose weight, build muscle, or just live a healthy lifestyle, you can still have fun doing it! In my experience as a personal trainer, I see A LOT of people eliminate all the foods they love to get to the goals they want. I’m telling you that you still need to eat healthy 5 days of the week, but spoil yourself with something you crave on the other 2 days out of the week. You work so hard, so reward yourself because by doing this, it’s going to prevent you from binge eating. Learn to ENJOY the PROCESS and TRUST me, everything will come together.
NEVER ELIMINATE FITNESS
This doesn’t mean that you need to workout every single day or become a health fanatic. But, I think especially in today’s society, we are all working incredibly hard whether it’s for our careers, family, fitness, etc. Working out is THERAPY. Who needs a therapist when you can workout right? It not only helps you cope with whatever you are stressing about, but also lets you stay optimistic with everything in life. I’ve had the pleasure of working with so many clients throughout my years of training and I want to pass over an IMPORTANT advice to you. I know life will get busy, but I want you to remember that we all only have ONE body and we all need to make sure we are always holding ourselves accountable for keeping health a priority. All the money in the world will never buy back your health. Not only can you use fitness to reach your physical goals, but also the benefits are endless when you TRANSFORM it into your lifestyle. Create a routine that works for you and you’ll realize it is easier than you thought!
There you have it folks.
