Today we’d like to introduce you to Ami Harari.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
When I first came to the States, I was working for a moving company. Once I learned that I could sell, I started working for a framing and foundation company and gradually moved from sales to learning the craft. After gaining enough experience, I opened my own company. Eventually, I graduated to general construction and began building custom and spec homes.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I do not believe that anyone in construction ever has a smooth road, but we can definitely build them smooth! When the construction market tanked in 2008, we all were running for cover – I don’t think anyone escaped without a few struggles. We have been very fortunate and have not had many catastrophic difficulties – mainly your typical struggles like this terrible rain we have been dealing with this winter, material being discontinued, inflation, etc. The best part of being in this business for over two decades is that I have gone through many learning experiences and when the struggles do occur, I have a solution for most of them.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
We are a full-service general contracting and real estate development firm specializing in new construction and remodels. I have always taken the approach to keep my mind and eyes open and to remain transparent with our customers which is so very important to me because I am an honest person and do not like to hide from anything. Our company is modeled after my life approach, and I expect all of our staff to be forthcoming with the homeowners and subcontractors alike. We say what we mean and do what we say.
What were you like growing up?
I was a little crazy as a kid – my parents thought I would be working in a comfortable and permanent job and I wanted to travel and try everything. My experiences took me through Asia, South America and eventually settled in the States. I love motorcycle racing and anything fast in general.
