Meet Isaiah David of TheStyleGuyLA

It was a big transition moving to  LA with two suitcases and not knowing a single soul in the city.  Beiing only 19 years, it was mind blowing and scary in a foreign city, where the people, the culture and the vibe  were so different than anything I’ve experienced In North Carolina. I knew I had to quickly adapt  to the lifestyle if I wanted to make it there.   I did. I worked  harder than ever and said goodbye to all my fears and put one foot in from of the other.

I enrolled into the Art Institute of Hollywood, California  and began my journey majoring in Fashion Marketing. It was a fabulous experiencen as  I met some great people, had amazing opportunities in and out of school and graduated with my degree in Fashion Marketing in 2013.  While in school, I was always networking while maintaining a school-work-life balance. My  first big job was as an Assistant Showroom Stylist for a popular LA showroom. This is where Ireally got my feet wet in the industry and the world of fashion styling.

This job open doors for me  where I was able to make contact with big-name celebrities, worked with fashion publications and and styled  fashions shows in LA and New York. After working as an Assistant in a showroom for  it was time for me to  do personal styling. This is when I truly found my passion and knew that styling is what I loved to do. Since then I’ve been perfecting my craft in  styling   and constantly learning and living out my dreams.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not always been a smooth road. I’ve faced many adversities and challenges along the way. I’ve seen the highs and lows. I’ve been booked, and I’ve been broke.

I’ve booked big gigs and lost out on big gigs; that’s just the business and comes with the territory.  I have really been through a lot, but my faith and foundation are so strong that they keep me grounded.   I remain  positive even through the worst times and  I’ve come out a winner. One thing about me, I do not  give up. I am a fighter.

TheStyleGuyLA – is a fashion styling lifestyle company providing men and women with a dynamic effortless style in fashion. I specialize in Red Carpet and editorial styling. I am known for my confident, polished, and glamorous styling.

Most proud moments are seeing my visions come to life. It’s all about art and creativity for me. What sets me apart is my aesthetic and taste for style and fashion.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Yes, there are some smarter business decisions I would have made along the way. But at the end of the day;  there is no guide to success,  you just have to take risk.
