Today we’d like to introduce you to Tara Rasta.
Tara, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
A journey into freedom.
We only limit what we believe is possible for us by our lack of imagination. What I know from my journey is that anything envisioned can be manifested in divine timing. From the time I was a little girl, I had a desire to shift others from pain to progress.
I wanted to heal their deepest and most traumatic wounds that frequently hobbled their bodies. I wanted to shift the consciousness of people around me so that they can see with greater awareness of how their choices can influence their life. I wanted to heal my family, my classmates, even my teachers, because we were all suffering under the same severe oppressive system of living. I understood suffering and trauma firsthand because I faced real-life events that endangered my life.
I was born in Tehran, Iran, in a middle-class family right in the center of the city. The revolution had taken place a few years prior to my birth, involving the overthrow of the monarchy and replacing it with an Islamic republic. One of the reasons I was different than others was because of the influence of my father. He was a political activist who allowed me more freedom in the household more than most girls my age got to experience. He impressed upon me that I was free to choose my own religion even though I was born into a Muslim family.
He insisted that I possessed equal rights and freedoms, despite the propaganda and the programs running our society. Because of my father, we also had illegal satellite which allowed me to see shows and media from other countries so I could envision myself being in places other than Iran. All of this made me very rebellious. I really enjoyed taking off my scarf and wearing nail polish at school, simple things that were illegal there, just so I could fight for my right of being able to do what I want to do.
I longed to ride a bicycle, but girls weren’t allowed this type of activity at the time. I dreamed of living in America, being able to be in complete freedom and ride a bicycle as the wind creased my hair and the sun kissed my bare skin. But those fantasies would have to wait. I was born in a place where my father spent ten years as a political prisoner prior to my birth, so my older brother grew up without a father. My mother lost her brother to the mass execution that took place after the revolution.
I was born into a family with many wounds, tragedies, and traumas. My passion was to heal my family so that we could grow and evolve, rather than shrink and fall apart. After a series of traumatic events, we finally were able to come to the U.S. as refugees when I was 14 years old. What a glorious day! I still wake up and thank God every day for this American dream that has turned into my reality. Despite all the current adversity that comes from being an immigrant here, I would choose this life over and over again.
I soon pursued my longing to be a healer through many different studies: psychobiology and neuroscience at UCLA. Many classes in functional medicine, Chinese medicine and becoming a doctor of chiropractic. I hungered to find new ways to help facilitate the evolution of our humanity through healing and expanding my own spiritual growth.
My current passion is a special technique of chiropractic called Network Spinal Analysis & Somato Respiratory Integration developed by Dr. Donny Epstein. I first learned about it from Tony Robbins and Deepak Chopra, but when I experienced it in my own body, I knew I had found a technique that I seemed to have a natural ability to express. I’m so tapped into it that I sometimes believe I am fully capable of doing pure magic. It has allowed me to use touch, breath, movement and focused awareness to reconnect people back to their body in safety to unlock the body’s natural ability to heal and reorganize into a higher state of being.
Network Spinal allows you to experience your body and your life in a new and exciting way that helps you grow in your self-awareness, and trust in your body. As a result of this practice, your body will learn to release tension and stress, develop novel and healthier ways to adapt to stress and create a greater experience of connection. I’m fortunate to be centrally located at my recently opened new practice at BOTI STUDIO in Anaheim, California.
I am a doctor who believes in the innate intelligence of our body to heal itself. I am a leader in creating genuine shifts in the collective consciousness of our world so we could all show up with greater awareness, presence, love, freedom, and divinity. I am a seeker of truth, unity, and love. I am a woman from Iran, living the American dream, loving this country as my own, and striving to make life better for others.
I always show up at my best, because every moment is an opportunity to live this dream, to soak up the sun and the wind in my hair, to touch other souls with my knowledge and skills. I can say with conviction that I am grateful for all of my journeys, including my traumas and my past, and my mission is to help others arrive at the same place.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My deepest struggle is wanting to be a perfect human, so I could set a good example. Yet I have known, that within my deepest pain, I can find my greatest medicine. I am learning to surrender to the need to know, to Judge or assert control and to be “in the right.”
Learning to show up no matter how uncomfortable it may be, and not being intimidated by people who don’t believe in my ability to deliver something that is absolutely magical. Yet, I have learned to move forward with my passionate devotion to my cause of shifting, helping and healing humanity.
Releasing conscious and unconscious programs and belief system that are based on doubt and fear that were holding me back from creative fruition of my soul upon this earth.
We’d love to hear more about your practice.
My business focuses on creating wellness strategies, classes, and tools for people who either want greater health or feel that they need someone who can revolutionize their health.
I am a doctor of chiropractic and functional wellness. I specialize in helping people with their spine & consciousness through network spinal chiropractic. This technique allows the body to self-adjust and re-organize through breath, movement and body awareness to a greater state of functionality, adaptability, and flexibility. Practicing the art of Network Spinal is what I am known for in my community, and it has been the tool I have used to change many lives in my practice.
I also help individuals upgrade their biological pathways through diagnostic testing, blood chemistry analysis, and personalized detox programs. I am proud to say I have helped individuals become empower and take charge of their health, shift their blood chemistry in profound ways and become the healthiest they have ever been!
I use frequency and Vibro-Acoustic Sound Therapy to create change in the vibration of the physiology of the body to allow for greater energy, healing, and adaptability. I am a creator of many workshops and events to help people develop greater body awareness, shift their consciousness and tap into the energetics of their body so that they can live their best life. Most of these workshops are created through collaboration with other gifted individuals.
Somategrate workshop: Integration of body & mind as one, using breath, movement, and touch.
Soundbath & Spinal entrainments: combination of sound and touch along the spine to create postural, psychological and structural shifts. Detox workshops to bring people together to create a community of people who want to be healthier together.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My best childhood memory is when I traveled with my family to the North of Iran, Chaloos. We went to Chaloos during our new year and spend most of the time with my family members and cousins in the beautiful natural forests there.
My best memories are when I was with my family, who I have missed immensely since we have moved here. We use to sing, dance, laugh and enjoy our togetherness.
