Meet Aurora Ouyang of Muses Films

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aurora Ouyang. She and her team share her story with us below.

Please kick things off for us with some background on the story.
In China, she is a well-known as a dancer and stage actress. She started her stage performance career when she was four years old, and she has done several large-scale global performing tours since, such as “Toy’s Night,” “Dreaming of China,” “The Original Sound,” “All Things Grow,” “Comrades,” and “Glory,” etc.

After she graduated from high school, she came to Los Angeles to pursue a Hollywood film acting dream. In the past four years in Los Angeles, she has booked the lead role for stage performances “The Romantic Paper Plane,” “Lemon,” “Fallen In The Love City,” “Love Boat,” “Noises Off,” “Trashion,” etc.

When she was 20 years old, one of the famous Chinese film producers cast her to be one of the lead actresses in the feature film “The Great Adventure In Las Vegas” as Lucy, which she received numerous positive feedbacks from critics.

Later on, she also booked the lead actress role for the Hollywood short film, The Black Moonlight, directed by a famous Russian director, Dmitry. This short film was one of the official selections in Cannes Film Festival Short Film Catalog.

In the meantime, the Black Moonlight also won 20 different film festival awards, including the NYC Indie Film Awards for Best Actress, Los Angeles Film Awards for Best Actress, and The European Independent Film Award for Best Film.

In the same year, she was also cast for being the lead actress for the Russian Director, Dmitry’s Science Fiction feature film, iBot, which will premiere some time during the second half of this year 2018 in China, Russian, and the US. She is also a social media influencer on Instagram, because of her hard work and fitness, she gained almost 800 followers these years.

At Nov 2018, the film that she is staring at -iBOT, officially released in China, she became more well known by the film industry, and her social media in China -Weibo reached 1 million follower

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, I met fake producers/directors all the time and wasted lots of time on them. And then I started producing my own film, it’s hard to find investment at the beginning, then I got some connections of investors from my friend, then the circle getting bigger and bigger.

Film production, financing, and distribution.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
1) My film ‘blackmoonlight’ was selected by the 71st Cannes film festival short film catalog.
2) My feature film iBot just released in China, and it got massive good reviews.
