Meet Harrison Baum of Daily High Club

Today we’d like to introduce you to Harrison Baum.

Harrison, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
In August 2015, I was an avid cannabis enthusiast working at Vistaprint as a fraud specialist for their website builder. In a sea of talented developers and designers, I was at the bottom of the totem pole. I paid my entire college tuition fixing iPhones and had that entrepreneurial itch once again. I saw another subscription service pop up on my Facebook feed and thought, ‘Wow, I could do this for a dollar!’

After creating a scrappy website and buying $700 worth of materials, I put the idea on Reddit /trees. Within hours it had topped r/trees, I gained his first few hundred subscribers overnight, and walked out of my day job. We starting doing collabs and worked our way up, eventually leading the company to the backyard of the mellow lord and savior… Tommy Chong. We’ve since moved the whole crew to L.A., ready to take DHC to the next level!

Has it been a smooth road?
Not at all! One night in my sleep, my shoulder socket tore apart, painfully reversing a socket repair surgery I had after a bad skiing accident when I was 19. In the midst of trying to get the business off the ground, I had to get a Latarjet shoulder socket reconstruction–a complicated surgery leading to a tube in my neck pumping painkillers for a week, and months of recovery.

It was really devastating and put a huge strain on the company’s progression. I was so scared that I typed up an email to the biggest competitor saying I wanted to sell the business. But never hitting “send” was the best life decision I ever made.

Sidenote: that competitor has since gone out of business.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Daily High Club – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Daily High Club is a one-stop shop for everything bong and smoking-related. We specialize in subscription service, which starts as low as $1/month. The $1 package gets you just the basics to roll one a day, our $12 package is mainly for rollers, and our $30 package comes with a new piece of custom designed glass every month!

We specialize in, are most proud of, and are set apart by our glass pipes. One of the partners has been in the glass industry for a decade, so loves to come up with new and unique designs. Making 15k+ pieces of glass a month is hard, but we have the team to do it!

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Best: This city is the center of the world for our industry. LA runs on networking, and that makes hiring a lot easier. Plus, all of the celebs we collaborate with live out here!

Worst: Traffic

Pricing:

  • $1 “All natural” subscription pack, enough to roll one a day
  • $12 “Connoisseur” subscription pack, made for serious rollers
  • $30 “El Primo” subscription pack, premium supplies and a new piece of glass every month!
