Today we’d like to introduce you to Romy Schorr.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Honestly, I have been an influencer my whole life. When I was a tween, I’d go to the local mall and get samples of beauty products, collect them and share my favorites with my friends. Fast forward many years later, that’s exactly what I do as a digital influencer, I share my beauty, fashion and lifestyle discoveries with my friends and followers. I started my blog, Romy Raves, ten years ago to share my favorite discoveries with women in order to impact their lives in a positive way. Over the years, I have honed in on my focus/niche and now I target the lifestyle interests and needs of women over 40. Now, I focus on anti-aging beauty products and treatments, fashion for real women with curves, travel, entertainment, food, wine and culture, and my cumulative digital reach is well over a hundred thousand.
Has it been a smooth road?
I have definitely had my ups and downs. However, I think my best piece of advice as you grow and develop your path is ‘Do You’! What I mean by this, is that along the way in your journey, people are going to tell you to do things differently/or to do it their way and you are going to question your choices and the decisions you make but always trust your gut. Here’s my personal example: When I first started beauty blogging 10 years ago, the majority of influencers were doing tons of makeup, eyeshadow, foundation, and nail polish swatching to show what different colors looked like on different skin tones and in different lighting and pretty much everyone was doing a version of this. For me, the idea of swatching makeup was not at all appealing/didn’t align with my brand and if I had to do this day in and day out, I would’ve lost my interest and passion very fast. Instead, I trusted my gut and followed my passion and continued blogging my way without ever swatching a single thing and ten years later I am still standing and continuing to achieve a lot of success and reach professional milestones.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into Romy Raves story. Tell us more about the business.
I actually have two career paths. First, I have a master’s degree in psychology and own and operate a full-service marketing research consulting firm with my husband. We conduct focus groups for brands and specialize in a wide variety of topics ranging from entertainment/television, consumer products, food and wine, health and wellness, games and toys, technology, social media, moms and kids and topics relevant to women. I also am an online lifestyle and beauty influencer of 10 years and am known for writing about beauty, fashion, women with curves, body positivity, lifestyle events, travel, entertainment, food, wine, and culture. I specifically target women over 40 and want to share the best beauty products, treatments, and fashion that helps them look and feel like their most vibrant youthful selves.

Well, I live on social media and spend a great deal of time on Instagram followed by Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest. It is a great way to connect with people all over the world who are interested in the same types of things that I am. Recently, I am obsessed with lifestyle convenience apps like Uber and Postmates which allow me to maximize my time working while they transport me or my meals to my destination of choice. In my opinion, they are worth the money for saving my time and sanity.
