Today we’d like to introduce you to Patricia Garza Pinto.
Patricia, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was reared in a very dysfunctional family and experienced many forms of abuse.
Presently, my father, who was once my mentor and hero, is serving a life term prison (without parole) for sexually abusing three generations of women in my family and many more women! I am also a former drug addict, drug trafficker and high priced call girl. At nineteen years old and four months pregnant, I was robbed at gunpoint by two masked gunmen and forced to strip naked. I thought they were going to rape and kill me and my unborn child. As you can imagine, I lived in a violent and volatile world.
In my early twenties, while in the shower, I had a profound and very emotional spiritual awakening. This awakening was the beginning of my life transformation. Thank God! My spiritual awakening brought me back to my first love… exercise and health. My evolution was gradual and spanned many years. This evolution did not occur overnight. In time, I became a nationally certified fitness specialist and began to assist in transforming the physical lives of my fitness clients. Although I enjoyed training clients, it was not enough for me. I felt something was missing, there was a cavernous void.
I felt fitness, alone, was limited for holistic healing. What did it matter if my body and the body’s of my clients were lean and strong if other aspects of our lives were out of balance? I wanted more. Therefore, I began to be curious about becoming a life coach so I could also offer to coach my fitness clients. Every coaching certification program I researched also seemed limited. Then, I discovered Paul Chek and the CHEK Institute. I became a certified CHEK Holistic Lifestyle Coach. A large part of me was drawn to the CHEK teachings and philosophies as the CHEK health and wellness program integrates many aspects of healing, including spirituality.
Following my CHEK certifications, I became a certified Journeys of Wisdom Holistic Coach. The “JOW” holistic coaching deals with the “wounded child”. I learned to peel back the layers of the un-integrated and unhealed childhood ego parts, The unhealed child ego parts rule the roost and often stifle and sabotage our growth. The paradox – I thought I was learning to be a JOW Holistic Coach to guide my clients into integrating their mind, body and spirit healing. Low and behold… I was healing my own wounded child!
As a Holistic Health Practitioner and “Healer”, I recognized many of my female peers suffered from anxiety, depression, insomnia, confusion. excess weight, lethargy, and, to a degree, apathy. My heart went out to them! In witnessing and processing my experience of my female peers, I realized I had transformed and healed many, many aspects of my own life and that I had the vast experience to assist in their healing. I felt in my heart and soul, I could empower women, my “SiSTARS”, as I had empowered myself, though health, wellness and spirituality.
So… I took much of what I gleaned from my mentors and instructors and created my Divine Your Power Health and Wellness for the 21st Century women’s empowerment health, wellness and spirituality training and coaching program. I feel my “DYP” training and coaching program is a paradigm shift as my program integrates a mind, body and spirit approach to health, wellness and fitness. I also offer DYP destination retreats where my SiSTARS experience feeling grounded; balanced; integrated; healthy; wellness; loved; supported and connected self and Divine Source.
After I developed my DYP program, I began to offer speaking engagements and do a little bit of marketing. Of course, with an extremely limited budget (for now), I was limited in sharing my message of health and healing. No matter, I continue to toil in the vineyards of health and wellness, sharing my purpose and dream… to empower women and assist in their healing. Currently, I offer free speaking engagements libraries; health and wellness stores; and, women’s groups.
In addition, I offer a “twist” in my program. I integrate a spiritual aspect… sacred ceremonies; walks in nature, connecting with Mother Earth and Great Spirit (Divine Source) and I also integrate Shamanic rituals, as I am intuitively led.
I have a published book on Amazon and Kindle… Your Amazing Itty Bitty Heal Your Body Book – 15 Essential Steps to Heal Your Body, Mind and Spirit. My second and forthcoming book, Divine Your Power Health and Wellness for the 21st Century, is 80% complete. I feel these are small but mighty books which offer many tools for healing.
As you can see, I am a “wounded warrior” who has chosen to guide and lift up others on their sacred healing journey. My path has not been an easy one. Nonetheless, it was necessary in that I can honestly say I have transformed my life. Therefore, I can help transform the lives of other women.
In conclusion, I believe I can only take someone or a client, as far as I have taken myself. And, I have taken myself very far on my own path of self-discovery, self-realization, and healing! All-in-all, I can honestly say, “health, wellness and spirituality has saved my life!”. I literally went from a mess to success. I may not be known, worldwide, or have a mass following, but I am helping heal one woman at a time. And, to me, that is priceless!
Has it been a smooth road?
Hell no, it was not a smooth ride! As a little girl, I was sexually abused by my father and my father’s friend. By the time I was sixteen years old, I ran away twice. My mother never allowed me back home. Therefore, I was rejected by my own mother and “kicked out of my tribe”… ouch!
I was robbed by two masked gunmen who pointed guns, up close, in my face! I witness my first husband as he was pistol-whipped during the robbery. I struggled with drugs and alcohol. I was an emotionally disconnected, young mother. I have been financially broken. As a young, single mother, I barely made ends meet to feed myself and my child and keep a roof over our heads. At one time in my life, I was on welfare and used food stamps to buy food. Due to my dysfunctional childhood, I have two failed marriages under my belt. It has not been smooth at all.
Although, now I understand why all this was necessary. Necessary so I could become the powerful woman I am today!
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Divine Your Power Health and Wellness for the 21st Century – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
My official business name is, “Holistic Core Integration, Inc.” I am doing business as, “Divine Your Power”. I created my business based on my experience of health, wellness and healing. I began my business with a state of the art fitness facility in Irvine. Last September, I relocated, solo, to the sacred mountains up in Idyllwild, in the San Bernardino national forest, where I continue my work.
I work with women who suffer chronic emotional and physical pain. I help them to create a strong body, mind and spirit. I empower women and teach them how to upgrade/up-level their lives. I specialize in health, wellness, fitness, emotional coaching and healing. And, I am known as a powerful Healer who integrates a mind, body and spiritual approach to health, wellness and fitness.
I am most proud that I dragged my ass out of the trenches of drug addiction, drug trafficking, etc. to heal those parts of my self. I am also proud that I had the faith, confidence and capacity to develop and birth my DYP system. I am proud that women come to me broken, confused and in emotional and physical pain and they leave feeling more grounded, balanced, well, joyful, hopeful and connected to the Divine… the Divine within themselves! The women leave having learned how to be a better version of themselves!
What sets me apart from others is that I have thirty-nine years of experience. My father was a Drill Instructor in the Marines, where he competed as a bodybuilder and boxer. He took me to the gym when women were not “allowed” in the men’s side of the gym, to train me in fitness and exercise. What also sets me apart is that I have a powerful healing system which integrates my own powerful healing experiences of health, wellness, fitness and healing. What sets me apart is that I was once into drugs, alcohol and giving my self/body away and now I am into health, wellness, healing and spirituality… healing modalities to share with all curious souls!
