Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Paul.
Heather, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I fell in love with real estate when my husband and I went to purchase our first home. I at the time owned 3 income tax and accounting practices, 2 in Southern California and 1 in Northern California. We actually had a terrible agent, unfortunately, however, I just loved everything about real estate and felt I could offer clients so much more. So, fortunately, I had built all of my accounting practices very large, so I decided to sell them all and jump into real estate. And I have been doing it ever since.
Within my first year in real estate, I was listed in the top 3 sales agents in the office, by the 2nd year I was one of the top selling agents in the Inland Empire. After a number of years, I decided I wanted to move back to Santa Monica where I was born. I have always loved being near the beach and the Westside so I moved my family to Santa Monica in 2010. I worked for Coldwell Banker Santa Monica for a few years, but after a couple of years, my client base had grown so large that it only made sense at that point to open my own brokerage; so in 2015 I opened Expert 1 Realty located in Santa Monica, CA. Expert 1 Realty has been growing very rapidly and I plan to expand to many more areas beyond Southern California very shortly.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Yes, I feel I am blessed, but it has been a smooth road for me with Expert 1 Realty. I have owned many businesses throughout my life and I’m sure that has helped gear me up for being a successful business owner and definitely helped me.

I am the Broker/Owner of Expert 1 Realty. I am also a full-time working Real Estate Broker & Realtor. Heather Paul and her team specialize in many areas of real estate and we dominate our customer service for our clients. We proudly handle both Residential and Commercial Real Estate sales and leasing; as well as Probate Sales, Bankruptcy Sales, Auction Sales, Luxury and Estate Properties, Multi-family Properties, Condominiums, and much more. We I opened Expert 1 Realty in 2015, I opened it as an Ebrokerage, an on-demand Real Estate Company available to our clients in real time “instantly”.
Heather Paul is highly trained and certified in many professional designations including Certified Negotiation Expert, Certified Property Manager, Certified Probate Agent, Certified Condominium Specialist, Certified Foreclosure Agent and Short Sale Specialist, just to name a few. Education and constant training is an integral part of Heather Paul’s business, I love learning the latest and greatest available to assist me in my business, I truly believe it is one of the things that sets myself ahead from many others in the real estate industry.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I plan on expanding Expert 1 Realty and hiring an amazing force of agents throughout California and then expanding into other states. I am also hiring agents to work on my direct team and we offer the agents leads. We have a state of the art app coming out also to assist home buyers, sellers, and agents instantly connect, ask questions, schedule showings, write up offers, and more.
