Meet David Abrams of Liberty In a Can

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Abrams.

Hi David, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is David Abrams. Growing up, I was obsessed with superheroes, movies, comic books, and geek culture. I started writing film reviews on my social media back in 2013 and have recently been attending press screenings for major Hollywood blockbusters such as Spider-Man: Brand New Day and The Odyssey. Currently, I am a cannabis beverage entrepreneur and a partner in Liberty In a Can, a THC beverage company founded by my brother Joshua Abrams . I host events in Miami for the company and do marketing on social media for the brand. Now, I am producing an animated action comedy film with singer/songwriter Daniel Mouyal, starring Noel Gugliemi from the Fast and Furious franchise as well as rapper Smokepurpp. Recently, we went to the Hear No Evil Studio in Anaheim to record Noel’s lines, as he will be the voice of the lead antagonist, Hector.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has been anything but smooth, as I’ve faced many challenges during the process of getting this movie made. A lot of people don’t understand that I worked for nearly four years at an art museum in Miami Beach earning only 17 dollars an hour, spending as little money as possible, and saving it to invest in personal film projects. Earlier this summer, I was fired from that job for being too invested in my activities with the drink company and this set me on a path of major depression, but also of hope, as I now had the freedom to properly focus on the projects I was born to make. Never in a million years did I think I would go from being fired from an art museum to working with Hector from Fast and Furious.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Liberty In a Can ?
Liberty In a Can is America’s THC Seltzer, founded by my brother Josh Abrams. As said before, I am a partner in the company and operate local sales, events, and social media campaigns in Miami. In doing so, I have hosted major celebrities including Lil Pump, Antonio Brown, and Relic Rhymes at Electric 23 nightclub in Wynwood, Miami. Now, I have shifted to hosting events for our company at Red Bar Brickell, in which I recently hosted the rapper 24 Hours, with my business partner DJ Scholar. What I am most proud of for our brand is how we have been able to work and build an organic following just by meeting people at events, and through social media. Of course, all of this is separate from what I am doing with the film, but they are important optics when it comes to public relations.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I would say the best apps that have helped us are the Social Orbit App, the Plus 1 App, and the Sections app, all created by personal friends who have helped me grow in the event space.
