Life & Work with Jim Francis Meza of Woodland Hills,CA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jim Francis Meza.

Hi Jim Francis, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born in South Los Angeles and raised in Lincoln Heights. LA, music, and movies are part of my DNA. I studied political science at Cal State LA, but my journey has taken me through acting, comedy, writing, driving limousines, and eventually radio and podcasting.

Working as a limousine driver put me around some incredible personalities, including Elizabeth Taylor, Mickey Rooney, and Mel Brooks. There are a lot of stories behind that job! That part of my life also inspired my writing and a project I co-created with Seth Goldstein called Juicy Divas! Confessions of a Limo Driver.

Today, I host Almost Famous Radio Podcast, where I interview actors, musicians, entrepreneurs, and people with a story to tell. The show brings together those different parts of my life—entertainment, humor, and conversation. I want to give guests a chance to be themselves and let listeners get to know the person behind the name.

My path hasn’t been a straight line, but I’ve brought something from every experience into what I do today. I’m still learning, meeting people, and finding stories worth sharing.

In addition, I threw my hat into the iheart radio Top Host which I believe I’m going to win.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. Working in entertainment means dealing with uncertainty, putting yourself out there, and hearing “no.” It can be hard to keep believing in yourself when things aren’t moving as quickly as you hoped.

Balancing making a living with creative work is another challenge. You have responsibilities, but you also want to make time for the things you love. My path has included driving limousines, acting, writing, and hosting, and figuring out how those pieces fit together has been part of the journey.

With podcasting, getting people to discover the show and building an audience takes patience. You put work into something and hope people connect with it. I’m still learning, but I keep showing up because I enjoy the conversations and believe in what I’m building.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Hi in case you don’t know who I am, I’m Jim Francis Meza an actor, writer, comedian, limousine driver, and the host of Almost Famous Radio Podcast. My work brings together entertainment, humor, and conversation. On the show, I interview actors, musicians, entrepreneurs, and other people with interesting stories to share.

What I bring to those conversations is my own mix of experiences. I’ve worked in entertainment and behind the wheel, meeting people from all walks of life. Being born and raised in Los Angeles also shapes my personality and perspective.

I want my guests to feel comfortable talking about who they are, how they started, and what they’ve learned along the way. There’s more to a person than a title or a list of accomplishments, and that’s what I enjoy exploring.

I’m most proud of creating a space where people can share their stories and be celebrated. Almost Famous reflects the things I enjoy most: people, entertainment, laughter, and a good conversation.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I love reading autobiographies, especially about rock musicians and actors. It’s my favorite thing to do, and I read every day. I enjoy hearing their stories in their own words—how they got started, what they struggled with, and what happened behind the scenes.

Learning about their lives gives me a different perspective on people and the entertainment industry. It also inspires my curiosity as a podcast host. There’s always more to someone’s story than what we see in public.
