Life & Work with Tajuan Netterville of Palmdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tajuan Netterville.

Tajuan, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My photography journey started with something simple: attending my girlfriend’s little brother’s youth football game. I brought my camera, started taking pictures, and quickly realized there was something special about capturing those moments on the field. What began as a casual experience turned into a passion I never expected.

Not long after, I had the opportunity to shoot my first wedding for a friend. That experience opened my eyes to a whole different side of photography. I wasn’t just taking pictures anymore; I was documenting emotions, relationships, and memories that people would look back on for the rest of their lives.

That’s when I truly fell in love with photography. There’s something powerful about freezing a moment in time that can never be recreated. Whether it’s an athlete celebrating a big play, a family sharing a laugh, or two people beginning a new chapter together, I love knowing that my work allows people to relive those feelings long after the moment has passed.

Since then, photography has become much more than just a hobby. It’s a passion that pushes me to keep learning, improving, and finding new ways to tell stories through my lens. My goal is to continue growing, building meaningful connections, and creating images that people can look back on and feel all over again.

At the end of the day, I’m not just taking pictures. I’m preserving memories, telling stories, and freezing pieces of life in time. That’s what made me fall in love with photography, and it’s what continues to drive me today.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t always been a completely smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been the cost of photography equipment and continuously investing in the tools needed to improve my craft. Photography can be expensive, and building up the right gear takes time and patience.

There was also a learning curve in the beginning, especially learning how to adjust to different lighting, environments, and fast-moving situations. But those challenges taught me to think on my feet, adapt quickly, and make the most of whatever situation I’m in.

Overall, the journey has been fairly smooth, and I’m grateful for that. Every challenge has been an opportunity to learn, grow, and become more confident in my abilities. I’ve learned that you don’t have to know everything from the start; you just have to be willing to learn, adapt, and keep pushing yourself to get better.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in dynamic sports photography, known for high-quality images and creative storytelling, I go beyond the action to showcase the passion, dedication, and personality behind every athlete.

I’m proud of how far I’ve come and everything I’ve accomplished so far, but I know my journey is far from over. I have bigger goals to reach, new heights to achieve, and a vision I’m determined to bring to life. I’m grateful for where I am today, but I refuse to become comfortable. I’m always pushing myself to grow, improve, and become the photographer I know I can be.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I want to give a huge thank-you to my family and friends who have encouraged me and supported my journey from the beginning. Their belief in me has helped me continue pushing forward and chasing my goals. I’m also incredibly grateful to every client who has trusted me to capture their special moments and, most importantly, referred me to others and spread my name. Word of mouth has played a huge role in growing my business, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without the people who continue to support, recommend, and believe in my work. Every bit of support means more than they know.
