Today we’d like to introduce you to Coco Perez.

Hi Coco, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hello, my name is Coco Perez, and this is my story as a singer/model. I was born with a musical ear because of my grandfather. When I was a baby, my grandpa used to sing to me. The song he used to sing was “Me Gusta Mucho” by Rocío Dúrcal. She was one of the greatest mariachi singers in her time. To this day, I can still hear my grandfather sing that song. As for being a model, I have always been such a cute kid. My father loves fashion; he used to dress me up in the latest fashion. I used to be such a Diva in my time. Growing up, I loved listening to rock music/heavy metal. When I was 10 years old, I was a fan of Avril Lavigne; afterwards, I got into Flyleaf, Black Veil Brides, and Killswitch Engage. For me if I ever wanted to write and even sing music. It has to be a relatable topic for the audience to understand. Such as pain, heartbreak, and even dealing with depression.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Oh yeah, every artist has faced their challenges. I’m not going to tell people where I work. But lately there has been some work drama because I have two people who shall remain nameless. One has a weird obsession with me, and the other one is jealous over one guy. It’s pretty sad; how some girls in this world don’t have the confidence or the creative to develope to create their own image. Instead, they would rather pretend to be someone they are not. Also, something when it comes to guys. I’m someone who doesn’t mix business with pleasure. Anyway, I remember I was feeling very depressed due to a work issue and some guy problems. I didn’t feel like going to my job, where I was booked somewhere around San Carlos. Until I saw the most beautiful place ever. It’s almost like being part of a secret garden full of treasures. That place was called the Filoli Gardens. It is now my favorite place, and thanks to that place. I got famous for doing the catwalk around the garden. I never thought someone who is plain like me could gain over 4.2 thousands viwers. I was filled with excitement.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am now known for my beauty and the ability to write meaningful songs that can relate to my audience. I am proud that I finally get to be a little famous, and I would love to thank my fans for their love and support. Is the fact that I am unique, and I love being creative, especially when it comes to fashion. But I love music the most because I am telling my story of hardships.

Yes, it’s okay to be imperfect; your imperfection is the reason why you get to tell a story. That’s where inspiration comes from.
