Daily Inspiration: Meet Manuel Perugini

Today we’d like to introduce you to Manuel Perugini.

Hi Manuel, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a chemist by training, and for a long time, my life was guided by logic and rational thinking. Over time, however, I discovered a creative side of myself that I had kept hidden for years.

Photography and 3D printing became two ways to express that creativity. Through photography, I can capture moments and emotions forever, while 3D printing allows me to turn ideas from my imagination into real, tangible objects.

This journey led me to create Forgebound 3D, combining my passion for pop culture with my creativity and attention to detail. Choosing this path meant accepting financial uncertainty in exchange for the freedom to express myself and build something of my own.

Today, I see my scientific background and artistic side as complementary strengths, and I am proud to bring them together in work that reflects who I truly am.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the hardest parts was accepting that the path I had spent years preparing for wasn’t the right one for me. At first, it made me feel like I had failed and that I had run out of options. It took time to understand that choosing a different path didn’t mean failing, but rather discovering who I really wanted to be.

Another major challenge has been building a business from scratch. Throughout school and university, we are taught how to become part of an existing company, but very little prepares you for the reality of running your own business — from bureaucracy and financial risks to finding the courage to make decisions without knowing what lies ahead.

There have been moments of uncertainty, but I’ve learned that creating your own path means accepting that uncertainty. Today, I see those struggles as part of my growth, both as an entrepreneur and as a person.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Through Forgebound 3D, I create 3D-printed objects inspired by anime, movies, video games and pop culture, turning ideas and imagination into something people can actually hold in their hands. I am also a photographer, passionate about capturing meaningful moments, emotions and connections that people can treasure forever.

Although photography and 3D printing are very different, they share the same purpose for me: expressing my creativity and making something meaningful out of an idea, an emotion or a moment.

What sets me apart is my attention to detail. I am a perfectionist by nature, and I often focus on little things that people may not even realize they wanted until they see the final result. Whether it’s a simple object, a complex project or a photograph, I put the same passion and care into every creation.

I am most proud of the emotional connection my work can create. Knowing that a photograph can help someone relive a precious memory, or that an object I created can bring a smile to someone’s face, is incredibly rewarding.

And there is much more to come. I am currently developing an exciting new direction for Forgebound 3D, expanding into fashion, home decor and lighting design. I want to explore how 3D printing can go beyond collectibles and become part of how people express their personal style and transform their living spaces. It’s a new chapter I am really excited about, and I can’t wait to share more.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I would like to give special thanks to my mother, my boyfriend Alessio, and my sister, Morgana Perugini. They are much more than people who support my business; they are part of the reason I have found the courage to follow a path that truly feels like mine.

Choosing to build something of my own meant facing doubts, uncertainty, and moments when I questioned myself. Having them by my side has made those moments easier and reminded me why I started in the first place.

I am especially grateful that they have supported me not just in what I do, but in my journey to discover who I really am. This business represents a big part of that journey, and knowing I have them beside me makes it even more meaningful. I may be the one bringing my ideas to life, but I would never take for granted the love and support that have helped me get here.
