Today we’d like to introduce you to Chrome.

Hi Chrome , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
From making masks in the back of my car, to now having a safe space to freely create the things that I love, my brand NBN holds a strong testament of perseverance through adversity. I left home at 18 to finally experience what independence felt like after spending years in a turbulent household, albeit very difficult to do alone I picked up accessory design in the free time that I found myself having an excessive amount of. A dear friend of mine that I consider my mentor to this day, made me my first mask and encouraged me to run off and make others for myself, and with that advice I ran with them as fast as I could. Attending nightlife events to promote myself and talking to the talent there is what really got me wedged into the underground music and fashion communities of Los Angeles, to which I still owe the grace of calling my hometown. But to speak on present and better things, I’m all the way on the East-coast still doing the same thing, making masks and designing new apparel for others to wear.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
By all means no, I was young making mistake after mistake and experience is a strict teacher. Especially being by myself and homeless, a lot of the time I had nobody to fall back on or ask for advice on how to run my business but myself. Ive definitely had to learn how to use discernment when talking to people that say they want to collaborate and make sure that I stand firm on the boundaries I set regarding my pricing. Otherwise, I’ve been ripped off, stolen from, and scrutinized for things that other creators don’t get looked at for. Just because of what I’ve been through and how I run my business.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Ive been making custom Ski Masks, accessories, and apparel for 5 years now! Though, I’m also known for my music and Djaying! I’d have to say that the energy I bring to any event, and the unique way that I love to present myself is what sets me aside from my peers. I really put a little of myself into every thing I do.
