Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaime Hidalgo De Calcerrada De Miguel.

Hi Jaime, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I grew up in Spain, being a dreamer. As the son of a paycheck to paycheck mom, I never gave myself a chance. Once I moved to the U.S., I started navigating what it meant for me to dream. Years later, I found it meant to make films, and after going to film school in Minnesota, I moved out to LA to pursue the acting side.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I don’t think it’s ever a smooth road for any ambitious person. I think the more we try to accomplish, the more obstacles we come across in the an attempt to achieve our goals.
Moving back to the U.S. was the first struggle, it took a lot of convincing and sacrificing.
Moving to LA meant, I had to make the hardest move yet and confront one of the harshest industries there are.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m an actor and filmmaker in LA. I seek to story tell, to entertain audiences the same way I’m entertained as a viewer at the movies.

I also work at the theater academy I’m in & and do a few farmers markets a week!

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I’m not American, and being so Americanized is a lot for my family to let go of and allow me to be, which was a lot for me.
I also make music!
