Conversations with Nieve Malandra

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nieve Malandra.

Hi Nieve, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Music and entertainment have always been a huge part of my life. I’m a professional vocalist and the founder of Malandra Talent, a Las Vegas-based entertainment agency specializing in live music, specialty performers, and creating memorable experiences for private events, luxury venues, and special occasions.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to perform at some incredible venues, collaborate with talented musicians, and build relationships throughout the entertainment industry. What started as my own career as a singer eventually evolved into something much bigger.

As I established myself in the Las Vegas entertainment scene, I began recognizing opportunities to connect talented performers with venues and clients looking for quality entertainment. That naturally led to the creation of Malandra Talent, where I could combine my experience as a performer with my passion for bringing people together and creating exceptional events.

Today, I wear several hats. I’m an active performing artist, a bandleader, a talent provider, and a business owner. One night I might be singing at an intimate upscale lounge, and the next I’m coordinating musicians, showgirls, or specialty entertainment for a private celebration or corporate event.

I’m also a single mother of two, so balancing family life with a demanding career and running a business has certainly been an adventure! It takes a lot of determination, flexibility, and sometimes very little sleep, but I’m grateful to be doing something I genuinely love.

One of the things I’ve learned along the way is that success in this industry isn’t just about talent. It’s about relationships, professionalism, consistency, and the ability to adapt and reinvent yourself.

What I love most about where I am today is that I haven’t had to choose between being an artist and being an entrepreneur. I’ve found a way to do both, and I’m still growing, learning, and finding new opportunities to expand what I’ve built.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I don’t think anyone who has built a career in the entertainment industry would describe it as a smooth road! It’s an incredibly rewarding business, but it can also be unpredictable and highly competitive. Staying relevant, adapting to changes in the industry, and continuously creating opportunities for yourself takes a lot of persistence.

One of my biggest challenges has been balancing my career and entrepreneurship with being a single mother of two. The entertainment industry doesn’t exactly operate on a traditional 9-to-5 schedule, so juggling late-night performances, managing bookings, running a business, and being present for my children can be quite a balancing act.

I’ve also learned that being talented is only one part of succeeding in this business. You have to be your own marketing department, booking agent, business manager, and sometimes your own biggest cheerleader. There have certainly been moments of uncertainty and exhaustion, but I’ve always believed in finding a way forward rather than waiting for opportunities to come to me.

I think one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is the importance of evolving without losing sight of who you are. The entertainment industry is constantly changing, and I’ve had to reinvent myself more than once throughout my career.

Ultimately, the challenges have made me more resourceful, independent, and resilient. I’m proud that I’ve been able to build a career doing something I love while raising my family, and I don’t take any of it for granted.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a professional vocalist, bandleader, and the founder of Malandra Talent, a Las Vegas-based entertainment agency specializing in live music and specialty entertainment for luxury venues, corporate events, weddings, and private celebrations.

As a performer, versatility has always been one of my greatest strengths. My musical background is rooted in jazz, but I perform everything from classic standards and soulful ballads to pop, rock, and contemporary hits. I love being able to adapt to different audiences and environments, whether it’s creating an intimate atmosphere in an elegant lounge or bringing high energy to a large event.

I’ve been fortunate to perform with some incredibly talented musicians throughout my career, including Las Vegas’s iconic Zowie Bowie, while continuing to develop my own musical identity and perform with my own band, Malandra Band.

Through Malandra Talent, I’ve expanded my passion for entertainment into helping clients create memorable experiences. We provide professional vocalists, live bands, instrumentalists, showgirls, and specialty performers, tailoring entertainment to the atmosphere and vision of each event.

What sets me apart is that I understand the entertainment business from both sides. As a working performer, I know what it takes to deliver a great show, but as an entrepreneur, I also understand the importance of professionalism, reliability, presentation, and creating the right experience for a client.

I’m very hands-on with my business, and I take pride in the relationships I’ve built with talented artists, venues, and clients. For me, entertainment isn’t just about filling a time slot or booking a performer. It’s about creating an atmosphere, connecting with people, and making an event feel special.

What I’m most proud of is having built a career that allows me to continue doing what I love while also creating opportunities for other entertainers. There’s something incredibly rewarding about watching an event come together and knowing that you’ve helped create an experience people will remember.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I’m always open to connecting with people who share a passion for music, entertainment, and creating memorable experiences.

Through Malandra Talent, I work with event planners, luxury venues, hospitality groups, corporate clients, and individuals looking for exceptional live entertainment. Whether it’s an intimate private gathering, an elegant wedding, or a large-scale event, I love collaborating with clients to bring their vision to life.

I’m also always interested in building relationships with talented musicians, performers, and other creative professionals. I believe some of the best opportunities come from collaboration and supporting one another.

As a vocalist, I’m available for live performances, special events, and musical collaborations, both independently and with my band.

Ultimately, the best way to support what I do is to come experience live music, share it with others, and keep supporting the artists and venues that make our entertainment community thrive.

I’m always excited to connect, collaborate, and see what we can create together!
