Today we’d like to introduce you to MarQuita.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
“My story is shaped by loss, but it’s also shaped by the women who raised me and the strength they left in me. I lost my mom to breast cancer in 2007. My grandmother, who helped raise me, was one of the most important influences in my life. She taught me strength, faith, generosity, and perseverance—not just through what she said, but through the way she lived. Losing her to a brain aneurysm was another life-changing heartbreak.
By 2014, I was grieving both of them, raising my two children, and facing homelessness. We were living in my car. I was overwhelmed, dealing with debt and damaged credit, and trying to find a way forward. I had to become the person who could create stability for my children, even when I didn’t yet know exactly how I was going to do it.
I began by learning how money and credit worked so I could rebuild my own life. Then I started helping other people. My first clients paid me $100 for a credit audit and $150 for financial rehabilitation. I treated every client and every dollar as a chance to learn, improve, and build something lasting. Within a couple of months, I reached my first $5,000 month.
That beginning grew into Bright Beginnings Financial Services and, over time, a wider group of businesses focused on financial education, entrepreneurship, and wealth building. I carry my mother’s memory and my grandmother’s lessons with me in everything I build. Today, I want other people—especially families who feel like they’re starting with very little to know that hardship can be part of your story without deciding how your story ends.”
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
“No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. I was carrying grief from losing my mom and grandmother while raising my two children, and in 2014 we were homeless, living in my car. I was also dealing with damaged credit, debt, and the pressure of having to figure out how to create stability when I didn’t have a clear road map.
Building a business from that place brought its own challenges. I started with very small clients and had to teach myself as I went about credit, money, contracts, and how to turn what I was learning into a real business. I made mistakes, especially as I grew and learned how important it was to hire the right people and build strong systems. There were times I had to regroup, take responsibility for what wasn’t working, and start again with more wisdom.
Those struggles didn’t disappear once I became successful. They changed shape. But each one taught me to be more intentional, to keep learning, and to build with a longer view. I’ve learned that resilience isn’t never falling down; it’s finding a way to keep moving and make something meaningful from what you’ve been through.”
We’ve been impressed with Financial Dminance, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
“My work is built around helping people move from financial uncertainty toward ownership, opportunity, and lasting wealth. My businesses serve people at different stages of that journey, but they share one purpose: giving people practical tools to build a stronger financial future.
Bright Beginnings Financial Services is where that work began. For ten years, we’ve helped individuals and families strengthen their financial foundation through services and education around credit, taxes, business formation, funding readiness, and long-term planning. I’m proud that it grew from what I had to learn to rebuild my own life into a business that has helped thousands of people.
Financial Dominance is focused on the next stage: helping entrepreneurs and wealth builders grow and protect what they’re creating. That includes financial and business education, wealth strategy, and helping businesses improve their sales systems. One example is our Sales Accelerator Enterprise program, which helps teams strengthen the conversations and processes that turn opportunities into revenue.
The Born Billionaire Athlete Institute takes that mission to athletes and their families. Through our Contract to Capital™ approach, we want athletes to understand how to protect their income, build assets, and create opportunities that can last beyond their playing careers.
What sets my work apart is that it comes from lived experience. I know what it feels like to have to rebuild from the ground up, and I’ve spent years turning what I learned into practical services, education, and systems. I’m proudest that these brands connect financial stability with business growth, wealth protection, and legacy. I want readers to know we’re here to help people do more than make money—we want them to understand how to build with it and create something that can benefit their families and communities for generations.”
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
“I grew up in Eclectic, Alabama, and my grandmother played a huge role in raising me. She was a steady presence in my life, and I learned a lot by watching how she lived: with faith, generosity, strength, and a strong work ethic.
I’d describe myself as determined and resilient, even when I was young. I learned to adapt and keep going through difficult seasons. My interest in money and business came later, especially when I had to rebuild my own finances, but the drive to keep learning and figure things out was always part of me. Looking back, I can see how much of the woman and business owner I became was shaped by my grandmother and the lessons she gave me.”
