Today we’d like to introduce you to Laurie Adachi.
Hi Laurie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began as a school psychologist working with students ages 2 years to 22 years with moderate to severe disabilities. Then I worked as a school psychologist at an elementary school district. I decided to leave education to work directly with parents and children, teens and adults. I’ve been a licensed educational psychologist in private practice since 1996.
I started private business with one associate. Now I work along side a clinical psychologist, marriage family child therapists, licensed clinical social workers, educational psychologists, tutors, and educational therapist. Individuals and families can find multiple types of services in our two neighboring office buildings. Our environment gives off a homey vibe, bringing about a sense of comfort from the time our clients first walk through our door.
I personally provide assessments for ADHD, learning disabilities including dyslexia, autism spectrum disorder, twice exceptional, gifted, etc. for all ages. In addition, I provide counseling and consultation services.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Building a business from the ground up has been far from a smooth road. Because I lacked formal training in business and marketing, I had to learn everything through trial and error. It has taken many years of persistence and hard work to establish my reputation and become a recognized name within the community.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The primary distinction between my services and those offered in traditional school settings lies in the exceptional depth of my assessments. We provide a comprehensive range of specialized services, designed to ensure that clients can easily locate the exact support and expertise they need.
