Daily Inspiration: Meet Mario Bryant

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mario Bryant.

Hi Mario , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Mario came from a musical family. His dad played drums, aunt played the organ, piano, and was a Opera/Gospel singer. Grandfather played the saxophone and Violin. Grandmother played the organ. Everyone in his family could basically sing!

Mario sang his first solo in church at the age of four. Watching his auntie Mary Jo play the organ was magical to Mario. After seeing Twinkie Clark of the Clark Sisters live in concert, Mario was blown away by her musician skills!
Mario’s mom Annie purchased an organ and knew Mario would play one day. In no time Mario quickly became the church musician under his aunt Mary Jo’s strict training. As a teen he spread his wings by participating in talent shows in high school. He became a star on campus over night!
College is where he perfected his talent. Rhonda Dillon, his vocal coach trained and encouraged him to sing Opera.
She said, “Not many black people are singing Opera. I think you should pursue it.” He tucked the Opera away for a bit and sang Pop and R&B.
Mario entered and won an A&R Hollywood showcase singing hip-hop Opera.

A couple years later Mario also entered a David Foster singing competition and won again! He performed with David’s orchestra in front of Hollywood celebrities such as: Diane Warren, Dr. Phil, Brian McKnight, Earth Wind and Fire, just to name a few.
His career began to take off. Mario started singing the National Anthem for the LA Lakers (7years), LA Angels, NASCAR, Rose Bowl (90k people) Dodgers, Anaheim Ducks, and countless corporate events.
Mario started producing his own sold out concerts (10).
Performed on two National TV shows.
Fox’s I Can See Your Voice and HBOMAX Second Chance Stage, where he advanced to the finals and became the runner-up.
Opened for Country music’s super star Jason Aldean.
Featured in a movie called ‘Desperate’
(Amazon/Tubi).
Two studio recordings “Beginning Of My End” and “Look At Me Now”.

Currently hired to perform New York, Chicago, South Carolina, San Diego, Washington DC, Palm Springs, Pacific Palisades, Las Vegas, etc.
Just released a book on Amazon called “I Smile So I Don’t Cry”. Telling the story of Mario’s trauma of being bullied in middle school. He just finished writing a song with the same title as the book.

Mario has been called the Prince of Popera! Even though he has mastered basically all genres, Popera is his niche!
Mario continues to light up the stage with his smile and super God given talent.
More to come from this humble down-to-earth guy.
Stay tuned!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Early on as a pre-teen my dad strongly discouraged me from doing music. He felt I should be a doctor or lawyer instead. I tuned him out and did it anyway.
Other struggles were proving yourself
to different environments.
Music is a TOUGH industry. No one will help you. Must have tough skin and keep it moving.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As a singer/musician I aim to bring
Grammy style performances to the event. There so many singers and musicians out there, but when we perform, my clients always say, you are
super talented, you should be a star
performing all over the world.

I am known for power packed passionate performances. Also because I sing multiple genres my clients are impressed. I am most proud of how I can draw all nationalities to attend my concert. When they come in and sit down they forget about their differences and stress.
Because I am black, I am singing Popera, that sets me apart and makes me stick of the crowd.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
The next 5-10 my singers and musicians and I want to take my concerts globally.

Nobody does concerts the way I am doing them. I perform all major genres at my concerts. So my fans are shocked and entertained at the same time.
