Daily Inspiration: Meet Marina Guirguis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marina Guirguis.

Hi Marina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Growing up as an only child, I was always getting into new hobbies to fill up my time with things to do. From a very young age, I always loved art. I was in art classes all the way into college. In high school, however, I discovered how much I loved makeup. I remember staying up late watching so many makeup videos on YouTube. I would stay up late at night for hours recreating makeup looks and listening to music. I was always going back and forth on creating a YouTube channel, until TikTok became more popular. I was hesitant for a while to start posting my own makeup content, until one day I was talking with a friend who gave me motivation to finally post. From then, I’ve become so passionate about posting my own content and working with so many amazing brands. It’s definitely been an exciting journey and I’m thrilled to see what’s next.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There were definitely times when I wanted to give up and forget about posting my content. Being in the “200 views” jail on TikTok was discouraging. Not being able to think of ideas was also difficult to go through. Being busy with work, school, and everything in my personal life was not easy. But to this day, I’m glad that I haven’t given up. Content creation has definitely kept my love for art alive, and has introduced me to so many amazing opportunities that would not have happened without pushing through the struggles that came flying at me.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I graduated college in LA two years ago with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, and have been working as an Auditor at an accounting firm ever since then. I am also currently in the middle of studying to get my CPA license. I definitely do enjoy the clients I work with and my team, and I am even more grateful that my firm is all about a work-life balance (outside of busy season, of course). This allows me to pursue my other passion – makeup and content creation. I’m proud of how dedicated I’ve become over the years to pursue both. I know a lot of amazing creators that do content creation full time, which is amazing! But for me, I’m willing to put in the extra effort to do it all – work full time, study for my license, and film my content. My journey hasn’t always been the smoothest, but the opportunities I’ve received from both have been incredible. I’m thankful to be able to continue my journey, both as an Auditor and a Content Creator.

What matters most to you? Why?
Definitely my people. If there’s one thing that everyone knows about me, it’s that I’m incredibly loyal to my family and friends. They have been through it all with me, and I am so incredibly thankful for them. Their love and motivation have kept me going, and them keeping me accountable for all my goals has definitely pushed me to be a better person.
