Today we’d like to introduce you to Alonia Walton.

Hi Alonia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My DJ career started after I decided to take a course at SCRATCH DJ ACADEMY in 2011. After building relationships, showing up to support other DJs and reaching out to anyone I saw with an event I wanted to be apart of, I built a clientele and name for myself in the LA/Hollywood areas.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was not smooth especially being a lady DJ at that time. Many didn’t take me serious or based off of my appearance, assumed I didn’t know what I was doing and some FJs would purposely try to sabotage my sets with equipment not realizing I learned how to troubleshoot most DJ equipment for moments like that.
