Life & Work with Jenna Michele of Los Angeles, Ca

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenna Michele.

Hi Jenna , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
When I was 15 I had this idea for a pod cast. I brought the idea up to my best friend at the time and as she was excited I had this feeling that she probably wouldnt be able to commit to it the way I would like. So i swallowed thought down and held it in until I met someone who i felt would be able to give the energy and the vibe I was looking for. I met Ebony at my old job in 2017/2018, I was selling her a car. Something told me to ask her if she modeled (because I was doing photography at that time), she said yes and from there I suppose the rest is history.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. There was a time where I wasnt sure Ebony and I would be friends again. She was struggling with this type of hurt that I knew nothing about and could not help her with. Ebony has this light in her that heals people but with most light people they have this darkness in them that is hard to run from. I tried to save her from her past by constantly inviting her to my house for what I call “Paint Nights.” But I also trauma dumped on her as to try and convince her to how vital she is to helping people. Ofcourse that backfired and she felt this overwhelming burden and decided to end our friendship. I took that time to really evaluate my “cpt save a hoe” complex, because even though my intentions were good they were not right.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am most known for being a potter. I started with painting at 4, then photography from 9 to about 30. Earlier this year however I am now a podcast host. This has been something 20yrs in the making and I am so excited for where its going to go! I think what sets our podcast apart from others is how raw and honest we are. There is sooooo much going on in the world that people need to laugh. That is what Ebony and I are trying to do, just bring some joy back into people’s lives and give them 20-40 minutes of just sheer chaos and hopefully inspire them to live their most authentic lives and not feel so stuck in the toxic overrated “American Dream”… because I dont know about you but its ghetto as hell out here right now

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
The podcast. The podcast is the most surprising thing. As people do know my mugs have very bold sayings it is a very different thing all together to watch/listen to me say the things I am saying.
