Today we’d like to introduce you to Roman Velazquez.

Hi Roman, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was a breakdancer in grade school then a hip hop dancer in high school. While working in jr. college at a Sizzler, a customer asked me my major. I replied ” i want to own a business. Turns out he was a dj and knew a big dj company looking for someone like me. I guess because I can pick out songs to dance to for women at weddings and private parties, I became a great dj.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Every now and then a ‘Bridezilla’ (3 out of 1,600) would ruin the day and make you think about quitting. Or the housing market crash in 2008-2011. That caused over a 50% loss in business then again with the plandemic of 2020.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in two areas. First is the dance floor of a given private party or corporate event. Once formalities are out of the way then it’s time to open the dance floor. If you get it wrong and look incompetent, guests start to say goodbye to the bride and head to the exits to go home and turn on Saturday Night Live.

The second is writing copy for commercials in radio and tv.
