Hi Kamil, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey into hair care began with a deep passion for healthy hair, natural texture, and making people feel confident in their own skin. Early on, I was fascinated by the art of hair, later on it was more about the helalth over the stylenot just but understanding scalp care, moisture retention, and how to maintain the hair’s integrity over time. That drive led me to pursue my cosmetology license in California, where I honed my technical foundation and gained valuable experience first working as an assistant colorist.
Transitioning into building my own brand, Beauty From Above by Kamil, allowed me to create an environment where high end styling and hair wellness go hand in hand. Over time, Im still growing my business establishing my salon booth in Chatsworth, California, as well as launching my online line for high quality hair extensions. Today, my focus is on providing elevated, specialized services from silk presses and precision color to seamless extension installations like I-tips, tape-ins, micro wefts, and K-tips while educating my clients on long term hair health. It’s been an incredible journey of growth, and every step has reinforced my passion for empowering people through custom, quality care.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road, but every challenge taught me resilience and sharpened my vision for my business.
One of the biggest hurdles was the transition from working under someone else to doing it on my own two feet as an independent booth renter. Balancing the creative side of hair with the day-to-day realities of running a business was a steep learning curve. In the beginning, managing client scheduling, marketing, inventory, vendor sourcing, and backend operations all while delivering top-tier service behind the chair was overwhelming. Finding the right rhythm, setting boundaries, and trusting my craft took time.
There were also moments of trial and error when expanding into my online extension line. Sourcing quality hair that met my high standards wasn’t easy, but I refused to compromise on quality for my clients. Navigating those growing pains, balancing family life, building a loyal clientele from scratch, and stepping into full independence in Chatsworth ultimately shaped me into a stronger stylist and business owner. The road wasn’t smooth, but every obstacle reinforced my belief in what I’m building.

Operating out of my salon booth in Chatsworth, California, I offer customized hair care services designed to protect, enhance, and transform natural hair while delivering an elevated experience.
I specialize in natural hair wellness, precision coloring (utilizing top lines like Redken and Schwarzkopf), and seamless, luxury hair extension installations including I-tips, tape-ins, micro wefts, K-tips, traditional sew-ins, and clip-ins. I’m especially known for my signature silk presses. I offer a curated line of premium, pre-ordered human hair extensions, bundles, and wigs online.
What sets my brand apart is my holistic, health-first philosophy. I don’t just style hair for the day; I prioritize the long-term integrity of the hair and scalp. Whether a client is coming in for a transformation or maintaining their natural hair under extensions, every service begins with thorough care, proper moisture retention, and scalp focus.

How do you define success?
For me, success isn’t just about reaching a specific revenue milestone or having a full booking calendar; it’s about impact, growth, purpose, and alignment.
On a professional level, I define success by the confidence and trust of my clients. When someone sits in my chair feeling self-conscious about their hair and walks out empowered, educated, and completely in love with their look, that is success to me. It’s knowing that I provided a service rooted in health, integrity, and exceptional quality, without taking shortcuts.
