Inspiring Conversations with Abraham Lieberman of Clicks Talent

Today we’d like to introduce you to Abraham Lieberman.

Hi Abraham, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I basically stumbled into influencer marketing before influencer marketing was really an industry.

I started freelancing in 2016 while I was serving in the Israeli military. One of my first projects involved recruiting creators for a social app, and that led to another app, then another, then another. Pretty quickly I realized there was this entire new economy being built around creators, but almost nobody had figured out how to properly represent them or connect them with brands.

In 2018, I officially launched what became Clicks Talent. We were one of the first agencies in the world working with TikTok creators—back when TikTok was still the Wild West and most major brands had absolutely no idea what it was.

From there, we just kept expanding.

Today, Clicks Talent works with creators in more than 100 countries, has agents and team members across roughly 25 countries, represents more than 800 creators exclusively and has relationships with thousands more. We’ve worked with over 1,000 brands, including companies like Sony Pictures, Amazon Music, Uber Eats, AliExpress and Atlantic Records.

What started as me basically figuring things out from a laptop turned into a global talent and influencer marketing company.

And I still feel like we’re just getting started.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not even remotely.

There were multiple points where the company probably should have died.

In 2019, we basically lost all of our clients at once. We had to completely reinvent ourselves and pivot heavily into TikTok and music marketing.

Then in 2023, things got much worse. We had grown too quickly, our cost structure was wrong, and we lost more than $150,000 in a relatively short period of time. I ended up letting most of the team go, restructuring the company and getting extremely close to bankruptcy.

That period completely changed the way I run a business.

Instead of trying to look like a big company, I became obsessed with building a company that actually works. We rebuilt around a remote-first structure, commission-based talent agents, automation, strong operators and very low unnecessary overhead.

Within months we were profitable again and debt-free.

Looking back, the hardest periods were probably the most valuable because they forced me to stop building the company I thought I was supposed to build and start building the company I actually wanted.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Clicks Talent?
Clicks Talent is both a global talent agency and an influencer marketing agency.

On the talent side, we represent creators and help them with brand partnerships, negotiations, contracts, strategy and business development.

On the brand side, companies come to us when they want to work with creators at scale. We can handle basically everything—from finding the right creators and negotiating the deals to managing contracts, content, approvals, payments and the entire campaign.

What really differentiates us is our scale and how international we are.

We work with influencers in more than 100 countries, and our agents and team members are spread across roughly 25 countries. That means if a brand comes to us and says, “We need 100 creators across the U.S., Germany, Brazil, Japan and the Middle East,” that’s not some crazy request for us. That’s a normal Tuesday.

We’re also very performance-focused.

Influencer marketing sometimes gets treated like this fluffy branding exercise where everyone talks about impressions and vibes. I care about whether the campaign actually worked.

We’ve built campaigns involving hundreds of creators, generated tens of millions of views for individual clients, negotiated seven-figure creator opportunities and worked across virtually every major social platform.

Brand-wise, what I’m probably most proud of is that Clicks has survived long enough to become one of the OG companies in this industry while still operating like a startup.

We’re not trying to become some giant bureaucratic agency where everything requires twelve meetings.

We’re trying to build the talent agency of the future—global, remote, technology-driven, aggressive about opportunities and extremely good at making money for both creators and brands.

Ultimately, I want Clicks Talent to compete with the biggest agencies in entertainment. Not just the biggest influencer agencies.

That’s the direction we’re building toward.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I actually don’t believe very much in “networking” for the sake of networking.

Walking into a room and trying to collect 50 business cards has never been particularly useful to me.

The best relationships I’ve built usually started because there was an actual reason for us to know each other.

My approach is: bring something to the table.

An introduction. A deal. A client. An opportunity. An interesting idea. Information they don’t have.

If you continuously create value for people, the networking part happens naturally.

The same thing applies to mentors.

I wouldn’t walk up to an extremely successful person and say, “Will you be my mentor?” That’s a big commitment they’re probably not interested in making.

Instead, build a relationship. Ask intelligent questions. Show that you’re actually executing on the advice they give you. Find ways to be useful to them as well.

Over time, some of those people naturally become mentors without anyone ever officially calling it mentorship.

I’ve also learned that one great relationship is worth significantly more than 1,000 LinkedIn connections.

Pricing:

  • or creators: There is generally no upfront fee to be represented by Clicks Talent. Our standard model is commission-based, meaning we make money when our creators make money. Our standard commission is 30% on deals we manage and close.
  • or brands: Campaign pricing is customized based on the creators, platforms, markets, deliverables, usage rights and scope of the campaign. We work on everything from individual creator activations to global campaigns involving hundreds of creators. We generally prefer guaranteed campaign budgets rather than purely performance-based compensation.
