Today we’d like to introduce you to Woo Kim.
Hi Woo, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
LynkMe actually started while I was a student at Cal State Fullerton. What began as a senior project eventually turned into a real business, although at the time I definitely didn’t have some master plan for where it would end up.
In the beginning, the idea was centered around helping professionals make better connections through digital business cards and technology. As we started working with more clients, especially real estate professionals, I began noticing a much bigger problem.
A lot of great agents were incredible at what they did, but their online presence didn’t reflect it. They might have years of experience, a strong reputation, and an impressive sales history, but when a potential client Googled them, visited their website, looked at their reviews, or compared them to another agent online, that credibility wasn’t always obvious.
That realization changed the direction of LynkMe.
We evolved from primarily being a digital business card company into helping real estate professionals build a complete online presence around their personal brand. That includes their website, Google presence, reviews, positioning, and the different places consumers go to research them before deciding who they want to work with.
More recently, AI has created another major shift.
Consumers are no longer only searching Google for things like “best Realtor near me.” They’re increasingly asking platforms like ChatGPT and other AI tools to recommend professionals based on very specific needs, markets, and specialties.
Over the last couple of years, my team and I became obsessed with understanding why certain businesses and professionals get found and recommended in those searches while others don’t. We’ve spent a lot of time studying the signals AI and search engines appear to rely on, testing them with our clients, and building those findings into the work we do.
Today, LynkMe works primarily with real estate professionals to strengthen their brand, credibility, Google presence, and AI search visibility. We’ve also had the opportunity to educate agents through trainings, brokerage presentations, conferences, and industry events throughout Southern California and beyond.
What’s probably most exciting to me is that the company continues to evolve. We started by trying to solve one relatively simple problem, and that led us into a much larger mission: helping great professionals make sure their online reputation actually reflects how good they are in real life.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road.
One of the biggest challenges was realizing that the business we started with wasn’t necessarily the business we were going to become. LynkMe originally focused much more heavily on digital business cards, and over time I started seeing that our clients had much bigger problems around their websites, branding, Google presence, reviews, and overall online credibility.
Making that transition meant constantly questioning what we were building, what clients actually valued, and where we could create the most impact. There were plenty of ideas we tested that didn’t work the way we expected, and a lot of lessons came from simply being willing to change direction.
Another challenge has been operating in an industry that changes extremely quickly. Search behavior is evolving, AI is changing how people discover businesses, and strategies that worked even a year or two ago may not work the same way today. A big part of our job has become staying ahead of those changes without chasing every new trend.
Growth has brought its own challenges too. When you’re small, you can personally touch almost everything. As the company grows, you have to build better systems, trust your team, improve communication, and make sure the quality of the work doesn’t drop just because there are more clients and projects.
I’ve also learned that being an entrepreneur requires getting comfortable with uncertainty. There are months where everything seems to be clicking and others where you’re questioning every decision you’ve made. You have to be willing to keep learning, adjust quickly, and not become too attached to the way you thought the business was supposed to work.
Looking back, most of the difficult periods ended up forcing us to become a better company. A lot of what LynkMe is today came from recognizing what wasn’t working and being willing to change it.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My work today is centered around helping real estate professionals build a stronger online presence so that the way they appear online actually reflects the quality of the work they do in real life.
At LynkMe, we specialize in personal branding, websites, Google visibility, reviews, online credibility, and increasingly, AI search visibility. A big part of our work is helping agents understand that consumers are no longer just finding them through referrals or traditional search. People are now asking AI platforms very specific questions about who they should work with, and that is changing how professionals need to think about their digital presence.
One of the things we’ve become especially focused on is understanding why certain real estate professionals show up in AI recommendations while others do not. We study the signals that appear to influence those results, then help our clients strengthen the underlying foundation around their brand, website, reputation, market expertise, and overall online presence.
What I’m most proud of is seeing clients begin to show up in searches where they previously had little or no visibility. It is one thing to build someone a nice-looking website. It is much more meaningful when their online presence starts clearly communicating who they are, what market they serve, what they are known for, and why someone should trust them.
I think what sets us apart is that we do not look at branding, websites, Google, reviews, and AI search as separate projects. They are all connected. A beautiful website alone does not create authority, and having a lot of reviews does not necessarily help if the rest of your online presence is inconsistent or unclear. We try to look at the entire digital footprint and make sure everything reinforces the same story.
We also spend a lot of time educating the industry. I regularly speak to real estate offices, brokerages, associations, and industry groups about how consumer behavior is changing and what agents can do to adapt. I enjoy that side of the work because even if someone never becomes a LynkMe client, I want them to walk away understanding how their online reputation is being evaluated differently than it was a few years ago.
Ultimately, I want LynkMe to be known for helping great real estate professionals become easier to find, easier to understand, and easier to trust online.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Two books that have had a big impact on me are *How to Win Friends and Influence People* by Dale Carnegie and *Failing Forward* by John C. Maxwell.
*How to Win Friends and Influence People* really shaped the way I think about communication, relationships, and business. So much of entrepreneurship comes down to understanding people, listening well, and building genuine trust.
*Failing Forward* helped shape how I look at setbacks. Building a company involves a lot of testing, mistakes, and things not going according to plan. I try to look at those moments as feedback rather than failure and ask what we can learn from them.
For podcasts and business content, I listen to a lot of Alex Hormozi. I like how practical and straightforward his approach is, especially around offers, sales, marketing, and growing a business. Even when I do not agree with everything, his content usually gives me something useful to think about or test in my own company.
Overall, I gravitate toward resources that are practical and actionable. I would rather learn one idea I can apply immediately than consume a lot of information that never changes what I actually do.
