Life & Work with Marcus Smith

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcus Smith.

Hi Marcus, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started Imperial Legacy Clothing with a vision bigger than fashion. I wanted to create something that reflected individuality, family, and the idea that what we build today can leave an impact tomorrow. As a father of six, legacy is personal to me.

Working alongside my sister, Faith, I’ve grown Imperial Legacy from a creative idea into a brand that has appeared on runways across the country and been worn by people I once only saw on screen. I’m proud of those moments, but I’m just as proud of the purpose behind the clothes. My background in psychology has made mental health awareness an important part of what I create.

Today, I’m still designing, building, and finding new ways to bring people together through Imperial Legacy. I go by Sucram Oirbok, and the message guiding me remains simple: Live Love Legacy.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. Building Imperial Legacy Clothing while raising a family and running other ventures has meant long days, financial pressure, and learning how to keep going when progress felt slow. Getting people to see the vision beyond the clothes has taken persistence.

I’ve also had to learn when to push forward and when to protect my own well-being. Mental health matters to me personally, which is why it’s woven into the brand. The challenges have shaped me as a father, entrepreneur, and creative director. I’m still growing, and every step has made me more determined to build a legacy my family can be proud of.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My work is known for strong visuals, distinctive details, and a message that goes beyond what someone wears: Live Love Legacy.

I’m proud that a vision my sister Faith and I built together has reached runways in cities across the country and been worn by people from entertainment and fashion. But what means the most to me is building something my six sons can look at and know their father followed his vision.

What sets my work apart is the connection between fashion, family, and mental health awareness. I want every piece to express individuality while reminding people that their story matters and that they have the power to shape what comes next.

How do you define success?
I define success by the impact I leave on people and the example I set for my family. Of course, I want Imperial Legacy Clothing to grow and reach the world. But success also means being present for my six sons, creating opportunities for others, and building something with purpose that can outlast me.

Every time someone wears one of our pieces and feels more confident, or connects with our message about mental health and legacy, I see that as success. The milestones matter, but so does who I become along the way. For me, success is living, loving, and leaving a legacy.
