Meet Austin Bradley of LUCENT MEDIA LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Austin Bradley.

Hi Austin, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Austin Bradley. I was born in Sylmar, California, and my journey into photography actually started during the COVID lockdowns. I used my stimulus check to pick up my first camera, and since then, I haven’t looked back.

What started as something that could potentially be a hobby quickly became something I realized came naturally to me. Once I recognized that, I began investing more of my time and resources into refining my skills and learning everything I could.

I’ve always had a deep love for dance and hip-hop culture, so when I first started photography, I simply wanted to capture the community I loved so much. I began volunteering my time photographing community events, mainly with The GR818ERS, which gave me the opportunity to learn through practice and firsthand experience.

I’ll forever consider myself a student of the craft, but I’m proud of how far I’ve come. What started with me picking up a camera during lockdown has grown into opportunities to photograph and film major events, manage large-scale productions, and create content across multiple social media platforms.

At the core of it, though, I still have the same reason for picking up the camera. Capturing the people, culture, and communities that inspire me.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Some of my biggest struggles came from mistakes I made early on. A lot of them were equipment-related, like not having enough batteries, realizing a mic wasn’t turned on, or dealing with equipment malfunctioning or overheating in the middle of a shoot. Those experiences were stressful at the time, but they taught me to always be prepared and have a backup plan.

Finding guidance along the way has also been difficult. There were times when I reached out to peers or people I looked up to for advice, only to be left on read. That can be discouraging, especially when you’re trying to learn, but it also pushed me to become more resourceful and figure things out on my own.

Some of the biggest struggles, though, have been mental. Imposter syndrome is real, and it’s easy to compare yourself to established professionals who seem to have unlimited resources and access to expensive equipment. Over time, I’ve learned that the equipment is only a tool. Having the newest camera doesn’t replace creativity, experience, or knowing how to tell a story. I try to focus less on what other people have and more on making the most of what I have in front of me.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about LUCENT MEDIA LLC?
