Meet Filbert Kung of Filbert Kung Photography in Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Filbert Kung.

Filbert, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am a photographer for 13 years now, doing fashion, advertising, portraits. Started in the Philippines. Have worked in Europe, Middle East, South East Asia and now based in the US. Currently in Los Angeles.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Leaving a career in the Philippines wasn’t that easy, decided to move to NYC 2015 and now, I’m currently based in Los Angeles. There will always be struggles along the way, but it’s up to you o how to navigate and strategize well, since I’m building my career from the ground up again. It was worth every minute of it since I’m doing what I envision myself to be.

Filbert Kung Photography – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I’m a photographer doing mostly fashion, advertising and portraits. Personally, I love shooting black and white images, for it captures not just the physical beauty of a person, but the soul. Capturing one’s real emotion is the best image for me.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
When I received an award in NYC at the Carnegie Hall as one of the Outstanding Filipino’s in America. And, by just moving here in the US is huge step itself for my career and I’m proud of it since I’m realizing the vision, I’ve been dreaming since I was young.
