Meet Nova Gholar in Van Nuys

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nova Gholar.

Nova, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m a multi-faceted recording artist, producer, and songwriter. I was raised in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago, IL. However, on a leap of faith, I packed his bags and left home for sunny California. My transition from Englewood to Hollywood quickly proved to be the right move. I began working with artists like Brook Valentine, Melanie Fiona, The Game, Chris Brown, and most notably, Young Money. I produced tracks for Young Money CEO Lil Wayne, and Young Money artists Christina Milian & Lil Twist. My work on Christina Milian’s upcoming EP, including her single Rebel and Popular featuring myself, led me to become apart of the E! reality show Christina Milan Turned Up. I learned very early in life that music was my calling. The son of a pastor, I was surrounded by music in the church. I was also fortunate enough to be the son of two singers who encouraged him to learn the art of musicianship. I began my career in music playing the drums and the piano for my father’s church.

It was my transition away from home and into college that solidified my desire to be a musical artist. I began writing lyrics and crafting my own custom beats. Pushing my music around my local campus and with the release of my mixtape, Innovation, with fan favorites like Eat It and Mizz Twerk Sum, I became a topic of discussion around Illinois campuses. After touring the Illinois college circuit, I decided to change my educational path. I retired from college and found a new form of study in music.

I have reached great heights in a few short years and he continues to create amazing and diverse music. I am currently working on a new project that explores is rooting in soul music, his passion for r&b, and my love of hip-hop. My strong desire to push myself has to lead him to begin new avenues in EDM and explore my talents as a singer.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
One of the biggest struggles on my journey has been mastering my self, the man in the mirror. Also in music, I had to learn not to overproduce the product and learn that the artist fills the space.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Nova Gholar story. Tell us more about the business.
My business is nu wav creative group, I specialize in vibe curation, I would say. I’m known for my soulful futuristic sound. I think the thing that set me apart from everybody else is my authenticity and my raw energy.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t necessarily believe in luck but I would say, I always land on my feet when I take a risk in life and business.
