Today we’d like to introduce you to Dana Waldie.
Hi Dana, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey into skincare and wellness began nearly two decades ago with a simple fascination: helping people feel more confident in their skin. What started as a passion for esthetics eventually evolved into a much deeper understanding of the connection between skin, stress, overall wellbeing, and the nervous system.
Over the years, I built my career as an esthetician while continuously expanding my education beyond traditional skincare. I became certified in Reiki, sound healing, breathwork, facial sculpting, and other holistic modalities that support both skin health and emotional wellbeing. Through working with thousands of clients, I noticed that some of the most transformative results occurred when we addressed not only the skin itself, but also the stress, lifestyle, and energetic factors that influence it.
This philosophy ultimately led me to create Methods & Rituals, a spa and wellness concept rooted in the idea that beauty and healing can coexist. I also developed the Facial Ritual Sculpting Method, a signature training program that teaches estheticians how to integrate facial sculpting, lymphatic techniques, and ritual into their treatment offerings.
Like many entrepreneurs, my path hasn’t been linear. During the pandemic, I relocated to Joshua Tree, launched and grew my wellness business, and became a mother of two. Those experiences deepened my perspective on wellness, aging, and the importance of creating rituals that support women through every season of life.
Today, my work spans both client care and education. I continue to work with clients through holistic skincare and wellness experiences while also mentoring estheticians who want to build meaningful, sustainable businesses. Whether I’m leading a facial workshop, teaching professionals, or creating wellness experiences, my mission remains the same: to help people reconnect with themselves through the power of ritual, touch, and intentional self-care.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not. While I feel incredibly grateful for where I am today, the journey has been filled with challenges, pivots, and a lot of learning along the way.
Like many small business owners, I’ve worn every hat imaginable—practitioner, marketer, bookkeeper, educator, content creator, and CEO. There have been seasons of growth and excitement, but also seasons of uncertainty where I questioned my next steps and had to adapt quickly.
One of the biggest challenges came during the pandemic. Like many in the wellness industry, I was forced to close my treatment room and completely rethink my business. Around that same time, I relocated to Joshua Tree, began building a new client base, launched Methods & Rituals, and eventually became a mother of two. Balancing entrepreneurship with motherhood has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, but also one of the most humbling.
I’ve also learned that building a business is rarely a straight line. Some ideas flourish, others don’t, and there have been plenty of moments where I’ve had to trust my intuition and keep moving forward despite not knowing exactly how things would unfold.
Looking back, those challenges ultimately shaped the work I do today. They pushed me to expand beyond traditional esthetics, deepen my understanding of wellness, and create a business that feels aligned with my values. They also reinforced something I now share with the estheticians I mentor: success isn’t about avoiding obstacles—it’s about learning how to navigate them with resilience, curiosity, and a willingness to evolve.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a holistic esthetician, wellness practitioner, educator, and founder of Methods & Rituals, a spa and wellness concept rooted in the belief that skincare is about much more than what we apply to the skin. My work focuses on the intersection of beauty, wellness, and nervous system health, helping clients achieve healthy, radiant skin through a combination of advanced esthetic treatments, facial sculpting, lymphatic techniques, energy work, breathwork, and restorative wellness practices.
Over the past 18 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with thousands of clients and witnessing firsthand how stress, lifestyle, hormones, and emotional wellbeing can impact the skin. That realization led me to develop a more holistic approach—one that blends results-driven skincare with practices that support the whole person.
I specialize in facial sculpting, holistic anti-aging, skin longevity, and creating deeply restorative treatment experiences that leave clients feeling transformed both inside and out. I am also the creator of the Facial Ritual Sculpting Method, a professional training program designed to help estheticians integrate facial sculpting, lymphatic drainage, and ritual-based practices into their businesses.
What I’m most proud of is building a career and business that feels deeply aligned with my values. I’ve been able to create meaningful experiences for clients while also stepping into a mentorship role, helping other estheticians elevate their skills, confidence, and businesses. Seeing practitioners implement my methods and create success in their own treatment rooms has been incredibly rewarding.
What sets me apart is my ability to bridge two worlds that are often viewed separately: clinical skincare and holistic wellness. While I am passionate about ingredients, treatments, and skin science, I also believe that true skin health is influenced by factors like stress, sleep, nervous system regulation, and self-care rituals. Rather than focusing solely on correcting the skin, my goal is to help people cultivate long-term skin health, resilience, and wellbeing.
At the heart of everything I do is the belief that beauty is not just about appearance—it’s about how we feel in our bodies, how we care for ourselves, and the rituals we create to support our health throughout every season of life.
What are your plans for the future?
I’m entering an exciting new chapter, both personally and professionally. One of the biggest changes on the horizon is relocating my family and business from Joshua Tree to Murrieta, California. While it’s bittersweet to leave a community that has been such an important part of my journey, I’m incredibly excited about the opportunity to build and grow in a new city.
As I establish Methods & Rituals in Murrieta, my goal is to continue creating elevated skincare and wellness experiences while becoming an active part of the local community. I’m looking forward to building new relationships, collaborating with other wellness professionals, and introducing my holistic approach to skincare to a new audience.
I’m also focused on expanding the Facial Ritual Sculpting Method, the professional training program I created for estheticians. What started as a signature treatment methodology has evolved into a powerful educational platform, and I’m passionate about helping more practitioners learn how to integrate facial sculpting, lymphatic techniques, and ritual-based experiences into their businesses. In the coming years, I plan to grow the program through additional trainings, workshops, mentorship opportunities, and eventually creating a larger educational community for estheticians who want to elevate both their craft and client experience.
Beyond business growth, I’m increasingly interested in supporting women through different stages of life, particularly around aging, stress management, and overall wellbeing. You’ll see more workshops, retreats, wellness experiences, and educational offerings that explore the connection between skin health, hormones, the nervous system, and self-care.
More than anything, I’m looking forward to continuing to evolve. Every chapter of my career has taught me something new, and this next season feels like an opportunity to expand my impact—not only through the clients I serve, but through the practitioners I mentor and the communities I help create.
