Rising Stars: Meet David Wismer of Santa Clarita

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Wismer.

Hi David, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I would say I am still in the early chapters of my story working as a creative. I began pursuing acting in 2022 with a few jobs as an extra on different sets. That is still where I find myself, as it is a difficult and competitive industry to break into. However, I find that I have worked on more projects in 2025 because of my reliability in being available to work. I have had many other opportunities as well in performing in live-acting work at theme parks and even currently at an escape room. The goal is to eventually get booked as a lead role in a feature film or even a recurring role on a streaming series. Even though my growth in the creative field hasn’t exactly been exponential, I am thankful for the opportunities that I have already had to learn and try new things, meet new amazing people, and add different types of creative roles to my resume. It took me a long time to realize what I was most passionate about pursuing, which was a frustrating process to go through, but there were other areas of my life that I believe needed more focus, which delayed me from chasing my ideal career path.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In some ways, yes, and in some ways no. I have been fortunate not to have had to struggle very much financially, which definitely alleviates some stress. However, at the same time, because there was no pressure there, I believe it made it difficult for me to really feel forced into chasing after the thing I was passionate about. I also had some personal things going on in my life since my college days that delayed my understanding of what I wanted to pursue. There definitely has been a lot of inner self-awareness I needed to grow in first before feeling ready to pursue the creative field. Even still, I feel as though there are still times of relapse that stunt me from fully engaging in the acting field, so it is a constant daily battle.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am pursuing full-time acting. Through research and networking connections, I have worked as an extra on professional film sets, performed as a live actor at theme parks, specifically for Halloween events, used my voice for a few voiceover jobs, and even performed in a live escape room. Some projects I am most proud of were when I worked on the sets of Fallout Season 2 and Euphoria Season 3. I believe what sets me apart from others is my genuine heart for other individuals. I am a huge extrovert, and I have found that I truly feel my best when I am surrounded by others. I love hearing other people’s stories and want them to feel included and that they mean something to me. I take that character trait with me wherever I go with no hidden agenda behind it because to me it isn’t money or status or fame that matters, but truly those who we find ourselves surrounded by.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My family has always been close, and so I have always loved all the holidays, birthdays, and events that we would gather together for. I truly cherished all the fun moments we would have together. Sometimes it wasn’t even just my immediate family that would be together, but also outside friendships I would make through high school. Coming from Colorado Springs, there was so much nature to explore, and that always made spending time together such a lasting experience and memory.
