Check Out Beorht Lewinski’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Beorht Lewinski.

Hi Beorht, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born in Ghana and moved to the U.S. when I was 9, and from there my life was pretty much constant motion. I lived in a lot of different states—New York, Florida, Chicago, Texas, Atlanta—so I never really had the chance to grow roots in one place. At the time, it felt unstable, but looking back, that’s actually what shaped me the most.

I got used to walking into new environments and figuring things out fast—new people, new cultures, new expectations. That ability to adapt ended up becoming my foundation, not just in life but in everything I do creatively.

I’ve always been drawn to performance—acting, modeling, dance—but I never saw myself as just one thing. Over time, I started building into other areas too, like design and culinary work. I’ve worked as a private chef, I’ve developed my own shoe brand that’s handmade in Italy, and I’m continuing to expand into fashion and hospitality. For me, it’s less about wearing titles and more about creating a life where everything I do connects.

Where I am now is still in progress, but it’s intentional. I’m not trying to fit into one lane—I’m building something that reflects all sides of me. Growing up the way I did taught me not to rely on one place or one path, so I’ve learned how to create my own structure wherever I go.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all. It’s been pretty unpredictable from the start.

Growing up, I moved around a lot, so I was constantly adjusting to new environments, new people, and new expectations. That kind of lifestyle teaches you how to adapt, but it also means you don’t always have stability or a clear path to follow.

Getting into acting early was another challenge. I had moments where I felt confident walking into auditions, and then I’d completely freeze once I was in the room. That disconnect between knowing I had potential and actually delivering it took time to work through.

As I got older, another challenge was figuring out how to navigate multiple interests without feeling like I had to choose just one. A lot of people expect you to stay in one lane, especially in creative industries, so building a path that includes acting, modeling, design, and culinary work hasn’t always been straightforward. There’s a lot of trial and error that comes with that, and not everything works the first time.

I’ve also had to learn how to create structure for myself. Without a traditional or consistent path growing up, there wasn’t always a clear blueprint to follow, so a lot of what I’m doing now comes from building things from the ground up and figuring it out as I go.

But overall, those challenges are what shaped how I move today. They forced me to become adaptable, disciplined, and intentional about the direction I’m building toward.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I work across a few different spaces, but everything I do comes back to creating experiences. Whether it’s acting, fashion, or food, I’m focused on how something feels and how it connects with people.

In entertainment, I work as an actor and model, and I’m drawn to roles and visuals that have presence—things that feel intentional rather than just surface-level. Outside of that, I design and develop products, including a shoe brand that’s handmade in Italy, and I also work as a private chef. On the culinary side, I specialize in blending different cultural influences into one menu, which is something I’m continuing to build out through my long-term restaurant vision.

I’d say what I’m known for, or at least what I’m building toward, is versatility without losing identity. I don’t separate the things I do—I treat them as different expressions of the same mindset. That’s also what sets me apart. I’m not trying to fit into one category or follow a traditional path. Everything I’m working on is part of a bigger picture that I’m building intentionally.

What I’m most proud of is the fact that I’ve been able to create opportunities for myself without waiting on a clear blueprint. A lot of what I do didn’t come from a straight path—it came from figuring things out, refining them, and continuing to build even when things weren’t fully clear yet.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
I wouldn’t say I’ve had one specific mentor or a traditional support system guiding everything I do, but there have definitely been people who played important roles at different points in my life.

My family, especially my mom, had a big influence on me early on. She introduced me to cooking and creativity in a very natural way, without forcing it, and that stuck with me. Even now, a lot of how I approach food and hospitality comes from that foundation.

I’ve also had moments where people showed support in small but meaningful ways—whether it was someone giving me an opportunity, offering advice at the right time, or simply recognizing something in me before I fully stepped into it myself. Those moments add up.

At the same time, a lot of my path has been self-directed. I’ve had to figure things out on my own, especially moving through different cities and industries without a consistent structure. So while I value the people who’ve supported me along the way, I also take pride in being able to build and navigate independently.

I think it’s a balance—appreciating the people who contributed to your growth, while also recognizing the work it takes to carry things forward on your own.
