Daily Inspiration: Meet Kiera Morris

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kiera Morris.

Hi Kiera, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am originally from St. Paul, MN and moved out to LA with my mom in 2021 right after graduating high school. I moved to LA to pursue a career in acting both on screen and on stage. Since moving here I have been a part of several regional theater productions. Some of my favorites are Chess (Jaxx Theater), Into The Woods (Wisteria Theater), and Parade (The Electric Lodge). I have loved being able to perform with so many fantastic actors.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think auditioning in LA is a tricky thing. I have multiple auditions a week that I have to work around my 4 different jobs which can make scheduling everything very difficult. There’s also a lot of other actors in LA which makes it a lot harder to book things. It is still something I love very much but it can be quite taxing.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a musical theater performer and professional singer. I have been singing since I was very little and it is my favorite thing to do. I love performing and being able to share my work with other people. I also love learning new music, I love learning a really hard harmony and getting to figure out how to sing it in a group. I pride myself on my musical abilities and being to sight read and sing anything put in front of me. My favorite show I’ve done is Into The Woods at Wisteria Theater in North Hollywood where I played Rapunzel and Lucinda. It was such an amazing opportunity and my favorite theater I have ever worked at, I can’t recommend seeing shows there enough!

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My mom is my biggest mentor and supporter. She raised me as a single mother who did so much to make sure I had a good life. She picked up everything to move to LA with me which I will forever be grateful for. She is my best friend in the whole world and I love her so much. She has sacrificed so much for me and supported me in every step of my life and I can’t thank her enough.
