Today we’d like to introduce you to Edelyn Patty.
Hi Edelyn, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey didn’t start with a big plan, it started with a desire to create something meaningful for my community. I come from a background in nursing, and while I loved caring for people in that setting, I always felt pulled toward bringing people together in a different way. I wanted to create spaces where people could feel connected, seen, and proud of who they are.
Indonesian Night Market started as an idea to showcase Indonesian culture through food, small businesses, and performances. I didn’t have a blueprint, but I had a strong vision and the willingness to figure things out along the way. The first event taught me a lot, and from there it grew through word of mouth, community support, and a team that believed in what we were building.
As things expanded, I realized this was bigger than one event. That is how RAVA came to life. I wanted to build something that could sustain itself, support our team, and allow us to create more experiences beyond Indonesian Night Market. RAVA became the foundation that allows us to grow intentionally and continue creating events that are both meaningful and well executed.
There have definitely been challenges, from learning the business side to managing growth and building a team, but each step has shaped how I lead today. What keeps me going is seeing the impact. Watching people connect, vendors succeed, and culture be celebrated in such a visible way makes it all worth it.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road.
Everything has been self funded, and that has come with a lot of pressure. Anyone who has thrown a party knows how expensive it can be, and we are doing that on a much bigger scale, creating an event for over 5,000 people each year. There is a lot of risk involved, and a lot of moments where you question if you can really pull it off again.
There were times where resources felt very limited and the weight of it all felt heavy. You are carrying not just the vision, but the responsibility of making sure everything comes together for your team, your vendors, and your community. It is not just about putting on a good event, it is about not letting people down.
At the same time, I am not doing this alone. Our team is amazing, and they are a huge part of why we have been able to keep going. They believe in the vision, they show up, and they pour so much into making each event what it is. That kind of support makes a difference in moments where things feel uncertain.
Those challenges have shaped everything. They forced me to trust the process, to keep showing up even when it feels hard, and to build something that is real. Seeing people come together, seeing culture celebrated, and watching the community grow each year makes every hard moment worth it.
It is not easy, but it is deeply meaningful, and that is what keeps me going.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Indonesian Night Market and RAVA are built around creating meaningful, people centered experiences. Indonesian Night Market started as a way to showcase Indonesian culture through food, small businesses, and performances, but it has grown into something much bigger. It is now a space where people come to connect, celebrate culture, and feel a sense of belonging.
RAVA is the parent company behind it all. Through RAVA, we produce and curate events that bring communities together. We specialize in large scale cultural events, curated markets, and experiential gatherings that feel intentional from start to finish. We are known for creating environments that are not just well organized, but also full of energy, culture, and heart.
What sets us apart is that we are not just focused on putting on an event, we are focused on how people feel when they walk in and when they leave. Every detail matters to us, from the vendor mix to the performances to the overall flow of the space. We want people to feel welcomed, inspired, and connected. At the same time, we are very intentional about creating opportunities for vendors, creatives, and performers to grow and be seen.
Brand wise, I am most proud that Indonesian Night Market has become something people genuinely look forward to and support. It is not just a one time experience, it is something that has built trust within the community. Seeing people come back, bring their friends and family, and celebrate their culture openly is something that means a lot to me.
I want readers to know that what we are building goes beyond events. It is about representation, community, and creating spaces where people feel like they belong. Whether someone is attending, vending, performing, or partnering with us, they are part of something bigger. That is the heart behind everything we do.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
There are a lot of ways people can work with us, collaborate with us, and support what we are building. We are always open to connecting with vendors, sponsors, creatives, performers, and community organizations who align with our vision.
For vendors, Indonesian Night Market is a space to showcase your brand, connect with a large audience, and be part of a curated experience. For sponsors and partners, we offer opportunities to be part of something that is community driven and culturally meaningful, while also reaching a highly engaged audience.
Through RAVA, we also collaborate on event production, whether that is helping bring someone’s vision to life, co producing an event, or creating custom experiences for brands, corporate, and communities.
Support also goes beyond formal partnerships. Attending our events, bringing friends and family, sharing our work, and simply showing up makes a huge impact. A lot of our growth has come from word of mouth and people genuinely believing in what we are building.
At the end of the day, we value real relationships. We are always open to conversations and finding ways to create something meaningful together.
