Life & Work with Rumy DaBeast of Greensboro, NC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rumy DaBeast.

Hi Rumy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started off as a consumer and lover for music and film at the young age of 8. I was very deep into poetry and kept a poem book that I would carry around with me, Those poems shortly transitioned into lyrics for songs. As a kid me and my cousin’s would also act out scenes from our favorite movies and add our own twist to them. But I never would’ve guest that as an adult I would have the opportunity to get a role in a movie. And now years later my passions have turned into actual talents as well as businesses. So here I am, music artist, recording engineer, producer and actor, striving to be the best version of me that I could be within each field.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been a rough road along the way. Some of the toughest obstacles have been trying to balance the mindset of always chasing your dreams while navigating through life’s struggles. Such as dealing with tragic events, having a lack of funds at times and even dealing with self doubt.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a music artist, recording engineer, producer and also a actor. The things that set me apart are my willingness to still learn and the understanding that knowledge can come from anyone no matter the age. Also my hunger to be multifaceted, I’ve also wanted to wear many hats per say. My older brother use to always tell me, learn to do as much as you can so you don’t have to rely on others to accomplish your dreams. This mindset has also heightened my attention to detail and my attentiveness. Im most proud to say I’ve done work engineering some of the biggest artist there is, such as Ceelo Green and Zaytoven to name a few. I’m also proud to have been able to share the screen with some heavy hitting names as well, such as Quavo from the migo’s & LaLa Anthony.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up I was always a outgoing kid, and my love for music has always been strong. I remember going on road trips with my family and singing the music from my CD player so loud that it would annoy my other siblings. I also was a very curious and intintive kid. I would pay attention to everything and ask alot of questions about things.
