Meet Miles Jackson of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Miles Jackson.

Hi Miles, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am. born and raised in LA. Class of ’14 at Culver City High School. I then went to SBCC for 3 years and graduated from UCSB in 2019. My senior year at SBCC I took a film class that changed my life, watching all the Oscar nominated films that year set me on a path to become an actor. I use to do commercials as kid but stopped to try my hand at football. I have been acting seriously for the past 9 years and have learned a lot from “The Imagined Life Studio” and my Mentor William Allen Young. I am currently a Theater Teacher at LAUSD as well as actor.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Graduating right before COVID hit was a blessing and curse. I also signed to my childhood agent but had to drop them to finish school. It took my many years to get a new agent but I was recommend to one from a Self Tape Company here in LA. Dr Self Tape.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an actor, I am know to have a wide range of characters from dramatic to comedic roles. I specialize in monologues August Wilson are some of my favorite to sharpen my skills. I have also filmed scenes for myself and Hollywood Confidential.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I hope federal and state tax cuts really help to bring filming back to LA.
