Community Highlights: Meet Stewart Wang of Wang Plastic Surgey & Med Spa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stewart Wang.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
For me, plastic surgery has always been about more than just medicine—it’s where science blends with artistry. Like many immigrants before me, coming to the United States offered a precious opportunity to pursue higher education and career dreams. Growing up in the San Gabriel Valley, I was naturally drawn to both precision and creativity, which ultimately led me to a career where I could combine the two to help people look and feel like the best version of themselves.

Deeply rooted in Southern California, I completed my undergraduate and medical education at USC. After completing my medical training and advanced surgical education, I became a board-certified plastic surgeon, certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. In 2002, I founded Wang Plastic Surgery & Med Spa with a clear vision: to deliver natural, long-lasting results in a patient-centered, highly personalized setting.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Building a successful solo aesthetic practice in Southern California—one of the most competitive markets—was no easy path. Steadfast with my vision and practice mission, which is an authentic, clear-eyed approach and honest conversations with our patients, one of my biggest challenges was standing out in a space often driven by trends and quick results. Instead of following the crowd, I focused on education, setting realistic expectations and precise executions, gradually earning patient trust through consistently refined, natural-looking outcomes.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Over the years, I have pushed to create advanced treatment solutions evolved from proven techniques, particularly in breast enhancement, laser lipocontouring for body sculpting, deep plane facelift surgery, and the latest regenerative aesthetics. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, each solution is always based on identifying the root cause of the issue and an individual and holistic approach to problem solving. I strive to continually evolve my treatments to achieve results that are not only beautiful, but also balanced and long-lasting.

Today, Wang Plastic Surgery & Med Spa serves patients from across Southern California and beyond through its four locations in Pasadena, Glendora, Upland, and Santa Ana, as well as its own Flower Surgery Center. While the practice continues to grow, I am always grounded in what matters most—helping patients feel confident, empowered, and naturally beautiful in their own skin.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
“Reveal Your Beauty.” It’s not about drastic alteration or chasing perfection, but creating results that age gracefully, enhance natural features and preserve each patient’s unique identity. The best results should appear natural, proportional, aesthetic, and harmonious. The work done shall remain the secret between my patients and me.

My goal is to distinguish my work with the experience I create for my patients. From the first consultation to recovery, the focus is always on listening, educating, and tailoring each treatment plan with care and intention. Patients often share that beyond the wonderful results, they value how comfortable, understood, and supported they feel throughout their journey.
