Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah G.
Hi Sarah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Think about it – we all know, or have at least heard of, a Dad stuck in a never-ending custody battle with an insane woman. In these cases, Mom genuinely believes she is doing what is best for the children – even when her actions show otherwise. Good Dads lose time, all their money, and nearly their sanity to the debacle that is California’s Family Court System. Children lose loving fathers simply because those Dads can’t afford an Attorney – and even when they can, there’s only so much that an Attorney will realistically do. For years, I watched my Partner, a phenomenal Dad, navigate a high-conflict custody battle while trying to protect his relationship with his children. In life however, the most difficult situations often produce the strongest solutions…if you’re willing to build from them.
What looked like chaos at the time became clarity.
What felt like injustice became direction.
Using my education and experience as a Paralegal, I created Documents for Dads LLC because if the system wasn’t going to protect good Dads, I would help them protect themselves.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The real challenges aren’t necessarily with the high-conflict Moms – no matter what type of Personality Disorder she brings. The frustration is with the system itself. Family Court is confusing, slow, and inconsistent. Far too often, good Dads are left trying to handle it without the help they need. Running a busy business has its own challenges: multiple cases, deadlines, and high stakes – but that’s where I thrive.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Documents for Dads (docs4dads, D4D)?
Docs4Dads is a licensed, registered and bonded Legal Document Assistance (LDA) service. We are not attorneys and cannot provide legal advice…blah blah…the usual disclaimer… Our all-female staff is qualified by education, training, and years of real-world experience. Lets face it: no one is nastier to a woman, than another woman, and her predictable behavior rarely catches us off guard.
Legal Document Assistants can save thousands of dollars by helping prepare essential court forms and showing Dads how to file them on their own. We explain court processes and legal terms in plain English, while keeping Dads empowered, organized & calm, every step of the way.
D4D will ensure that the Parenting Plan addresses any issue and every detail – something that Attorneys and Judges simply do not do. Any vague or ambiguous language in a Court order will almost certainly be exploited by Mom.
Our professional Custody Support Specialists, certified under the standards of the International Coaching Federation (ICF), are available every day of the week to help Dad tackle the onslaught of hostile messages, public tantrums, sudden demands, and her never-ending antics. Unfortunately, false allegations are a common occurrence when Mom is not getting her way. For Dads, this can be terrifying. We understand this pattern well and instead of panicking, we help Dad document, stay composed, and respond the right way.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
The easiest way to support Documents for Dads is to spread the word. If you know a Dad who is self-represented and/or dealing with a high-conflict Mom, send a text to → 949-887-2180. We can also be reached through our website docs4dads.com, social media, or simply scan the QR code below. There is no charge to speak with us about your situation or have us check on any documents that may need to be filed.
We also collaborate with Family Law Attorneys in almost every County in California, and many other professionals who want Dads to be supported.
Parents have equal rights in in this State. Custody Cases are guided by the Law – not Mom’s anger and need for control. No child should lose a relationship with their Dad because he is not familiar with the system or lacks the resources for an Attorney.
