Captain Kidd’s Fish Market & Restaurant – King Harbor

Located in the heart of Redondo Beach’s King Harbor, Captain Kidd’s Fish Market & Restaurant has been serving fresh seafood, grilled fish, and oceanfront dining since 1976. Whether you’re looking for a casual seafood restaurant, a fresh fish market, or waterfront dining near the Redondo Beach Pier, Captain Kidd’s is a South Bay favorite for locals and visitors alike.

A true South Bay landmark fish market and restaurant.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being a fish market and seafood restaurant located on the water in the beautiful King Harbor Marina has its benefits, including fishermen able to pull up their boats and offload their local fresh catch.

But as any business that has been around for 50 years, there has always been issues and events that Captain Kidds has had to endure through.

There has been fires on the pier, giant ocean storms, and much more. But we have continued to endure and this is our 50th Anniversary!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Captain Kidds Fish Market & Restaurant?

For nearly 50 years, Captain Kidd’s has been a staple of the Redondo Beach waterfront. Known for generous portions, fresh ingredients, and a relaxed harbor atmosphere, we’ve built a reputation as one of the best seafood restaurants in the South Bay.

Whether you’re stopping by after a day at the beach, visiting the Redondo Pier, or looking for a casual place to enjoy fresh seafood, Captain Kidd’s delivers a true local experience and the Best Seafood in Redondo Beach.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Captain Kidds was started in 1976 by The Mills Family. When Harry Mills passed away, John (his son) took over the business valiantly. I am pretty sure the entire South Bay knew John Mills.

Over 10 years ago John brought in two partners to make sure Captain Kidds will be around for another 50 years. But all the credit needs to go to Harry and John Mills for turning a family business into a South Bay Landmark.
