Rising Stars: Meet Natasha Jane Julian of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natasha Jane Julian.

Hi Natasha Jane, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in the small mountain town of Idyllwild, California, and from an early age I was drawn to the stage. I was a true theatre kid, I loved singing, dancing, and actin. I was completely in love with performing. At 18, I packed up my car and moved to Los Angeles without knowing anyone. Just my ambition and drive.

I spent my early years in LA studying acting and auditioning, but over time, music became my main focus. Around 2013, I was living in Florida and performing in a few local bands, which helped me with my sound and stage presence. Eventually, I decided to step away and fully commit to building my solo career.

In 2016, I moved to the south of France, and that period became a turning point in my artistic development. Being removed from the noise and distractions of city life allowed me to fully immerse myself in songwriting. I was creating constantly. During that time, I was also raising two young girls, having stepped into motherhood at 21, so my life was both creatively expansive and deeply demanding. While in Europe, I performed with my band across England, Scottland, Finland, and France, and also played more intimate acoustic sets.

Behind the scenes, though, I was navigating some physical health challenges that eventually developed into a full-blown anxiety disorder. It caught me off guard, and for years I tried to push through it quietly—minimizing it, hiding it, and hoping it would pass.

After moving back to Los Angeles in 2019, everything eventually came to a breaking point. I found myself at one of the lowest moments of my life. That’s when I came across a video about Oprah Winfrey’s meditation practice,Transcendental Meditation, and decided to try it, feeling like I had nothing left to lose.

What started as a last attempt to feel like myself again became a complete turning point. Through consistent practice, I began to experience real healing and it took my body out of fight or flight mode. The panic attacks disappeared, the physical symptoms eased, my thoughts became quieter, and I felt a renewed sense of clarity and purpose.

That journey became the foundation for everything I’m building now. It inspired me to create Dream Fuelerzz (coming soon) a 100% sustainable, mental health-focused loungewear brand rooted in healing and empowerment. Then came the idea of the Dream Fuelerzz Podcast which I just launched as a platform for myself and others to tell their stories of transformation—a space where people can feel seen, heard, supported, and less alone.

That chapter of my life forced me to confront parts of myself I had been avoiding. It pushed me to grow beyond the limitations I had unconsciously placed on myself and step into a bigger vision. Now, my work, both as an artist and entrepreneur is deeply connected to that purpose: turning pain into something meaningful, and creating spaces that help others do the same.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
NEVER Ha ! It has definitely not been a smooth road. But over time, I’ve come to see that the challenges are actually what shape your purpose and give meaning to the “why” behind everything you do.

One of the biggest struggles I’ve faced has been access, whether that’s resources, opportunities, or even just the belief that those things were available to me. I come from a family of survivors, not necessarily from a background where pursuing a career in the arts or building a brand was the norm. I didn’t have any examples to follow, so a lot of my journey has been about unlearning limiting beliefs and trusting myself to figure things out along the way.

There were many moments where I felt like I didn’t have everything I needed to begin, but I’ve learned that you don’t wait until you’re fully ready. You just start!

I’m still figuring things out now and I think that’s part of the process. But what keeps me going is a deep sense of purpose. My “why” is strong enough that even in the uncertain moments, I believe things will align the way they’re meant to—as long as I don’t give up

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a deeply emotional artist and storyteller. I’ve always been an empath or highly sensitive person and interestingly, quite shy by nature. But the stage has always been the one place I thrive and where I feel fully alive .

My music is rooted in vulnerability. I create moody, cinematic songs that explore mental health, self-discovery, and transformation—leaning into the darker emotions but always searching for meaning and light within them. I’m drawn to honesty in its rawest form, and I think that’s what people connect with most in my work. I’ve been known for creating sensual ambient anthems sometimes haunting my nature. Thee kind of songs that make you contemplate life.

I started later than many artists and spent years battling self-doubt before truly stepping into my voice. That journey is a big part of what drives me today. I want people to feel empowered to start wherever they are, at any stage in life.

At the heart of everything I create is the intention to make people feel seen, understood, and less alone, which is also what inspired me to create Dream Fuelerzz.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters the most to me is making people feel seen . Creating a world with more compassion and love because I feel it’s getting lost and when people feel seen, they feel less alone—and that’s where real healing and connection begin.
