Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharondra Marks.
Hi Sharondra, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started because I loved fashion. Accessories to be exact. The year was 2005 when I started to research how to start a business. I was 23 years old. I then filed a DBA ( doing business as) and started selling summer 2006 to about summer 2008. I took a 5 year hiatus. During that time I did more research and planned to come back stronger and more professional. I reintroduced the brand September of 2013. But this time with a website and a logo. I started hosting pop up shops all over Los Angeles County, and worked several different vendor events. During the Pandemic I started doing live sells. In November 2022 I opened my first Brick and Mortar location.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has had its ups and downs as everything in life does. My struggles have been the decline in the economy, indirect competitors, the constant shifts in social media and the introduction of AI. With everything you must push through and stay the course.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Shady Lady Accessory Bar?
We are your one stop Accessory Shop. Specializing in Jewelry, sunglasses, caps/hats, sometimes shoes, and of course our flagship item which are purses. What’s sets us apart is that there are not many other Accessory only stores in Los Angeles. We pride ourselves on a great experience when you enter the Bar. With Good vibes, big energy, and lots of one of a kind designs. We offer services such as styling and designing custom made pieces that you won’t see anywhere else. We have also been featured in two movie scenes within the last 2 years. We host shopping parties and Bday parties serving as an event space.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
A great attitude and attention to detail has played a major part in our success. A commitment to excellence is the Motto
