Today we’d like to introduce you to Maricela Alvarez.
Hi Maricela, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
A little about my journey that has lead me to be in the space that I am in today…
The journey that lead me into what I do today didn’t begin as a business pursuit. Rather, everything is rooted in feeling called to do the work that I do due to lived experiences, healing and truly a deep rooted desire to support women in meaningful ways.
I am the mother of four sons and it has been my own motherhood journey, the ups and the downs, the emotional rollercoaster of motherhood that has driven me to be passionate about the wellbeing of women. I know firsthand the struggles of postpartum depression and anxiety, the loss of ones self, confidence and the loss of ones direction. It is these life experiences that have literally planted seeds within me that have sprouted into the work that I do today.
Life drove me down the path of first becoming a certified postpartum doula and then to become a certified professional development coach.
Everything that I do is to support women as they navigate their lives, identities and purpose. My work continues to grow and evolve albeit my mission continues to be the same, to create safe spaces for women to feel supported, loved and empowered to become confident beings in living as their highest, truest selves.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Life is never a smooth road. Every journey has its struggles. My struggles are usually rooted in navigating family life, being a wife and mother while also holding onto my own identity that is tightly interwoven into my intentionally pursuing other spaces that I feel called to be in.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a certified postpartum doula and a certified professional development coach- the founder of Mind Light Wellbeing. At the core of what I do, I support women during some of their most transformative seasons of their lives. What does that look like? It can look like supporting women as they navigate their first moments and first weeks of motherhood or stepping into a space of helping women rebuild and find their confidence and identity as they navigate and explore the world. I specialize in supporting women with their life transitions that can be in the arena of motherhood, career shifts or personal reinvention.
I am known for creating safe spaces where women can feel heard, seen, and supported with no judgement. I know how to hold space so growth and learning can take place.
What sets me apart? That’s a great question! I think what sets me apart is my deep love for people. my intuitive gifts that I use to lead me through my work. My ability to infuse women with confidence in themselves and their many roles. I genuinely try to live what I teach. I know how to meet women where they are. I know how to gently guide them through their personal journey. I love what I do!
How do you think about luck?
I don’t believe in luck- or at least not in the luck that one finds from finding a four leaf clover or a penny on heads. I believe that life is a giant and beautiful masterpiece. Each decision creates the next moment. I have seen how one decision big or small , good or bad creates the landscape for ones business or life.
