Today we’d like to introduce you to Norman King IV.
Hi Norman, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I always knew that I wanted to work in Entertainment from a young age. I was that weird kid that would listen to movie soundtracks on my iPod. I’ve been acting in theater productions since 5 years old. I then began editing footage and making short films around age nine. I was constantly writing TV show and feature film concepts in my journal and I knew that one day I would get them onto the big screen. In 2019 I was accepted into the Global Bachelors Film Art Program at Emerson College in Boston and Paris College of Art (PCA) in Paris France. The opportunity to spend three years studying full time in Europe, more specifically Paris, France, and Limburg, the Netherlands, enhanced my exposure to a variety of cultures which helped to strengthen my creative skills and content as well as my knowledge of fashion and styling.
In 2022, I graduated with a dual degree in Film Arts from Emerson College and Paris College of Art (PCA). Paris was the perfect city to create his thesis short film “Look At Me” which boasted an international cast and crew. “Look At Me” was selected to screen in film festivals in Amsterdam, London, Los Angeles and Washington D.C.
My ability to speak and converse in several languages allowed my thoughts as a writer, director, and actor to participate and contribute to many levels of understanding. I am fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, French, Russian and conversant in Italian.
In 2023, I became the Assistant to the Executive Producer at PBS/WETA on the National Productions: Special Projects team, working on fundraising, and research and development for new broadcast series, documentaries on healthcare and well being.
In 2024, I moved to Los Angeles and signed with a local talent Agency for commercial acting while still working for PBS. After leaving my job due to the current political administration limiting funding for projects, I began working as the Head of Social Media Production for the Hollywood Musical, Adventures in the Great Beyond, which premiered in Fall 2024 at the Hudson Theater.
After the musical ended, I started my own production company NKIV LLC in 2025. My company specializes in: Feature film development, Television Pilots, Creative interview series, Fashion + entertainment digital content, and Branded storytelling for modern audiences. Through my LLC I’ve been hired to work as an interviewer on the red carpet for LA Fashion week and other local events.
In my new talk show, ‘Meet the Makers’ I interview local and international artists. Each episode runs 15–20 minutes, making it the perfect watch during a coffee break, lunch break, or commute.
The series features intimate, visually elevated conversations with designers, entrepreneurs, artists, and cultural leaders. Unlike long-form podcasts or traditional talk shows, Meet the Makers delivers focused, engaging storytelling in a concise format that respects viewers’ time while keeping them fully immersed. Blending the polish of television with the authenticity of podcast conversation, the show offers high-quality production, meaningful dialogue, and cultural relevance — all optimized for online viewing across YouTube and social platforms.
New Episodes every 2 Weeks aired on YouTube and distributed across Instagram, Threads, TikTok, and other platforms.
L.A. based companies interested in the show often reach out to sponsor different episodes.
In addition to my talk show, I have also recently partnered with Matricalis Films LLC, lead by Stefan and Soli Kleinschuster, producing a new limited Cowboy/Western series called Full Cloud which will begin filming soon this year.
It’s been an incredible journey and I know it’s just the beginning.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
After leaving PBS, I was worried about finding more jobs. And it was difficult having to constantly search. I desperately wanted a corporate in-office production job but then I realized I could make my own table instead of chasing a random 9 to 5. In fact, I had to learn, “Don’t Chase, Attract”. I say this to myself all the time: all things will work out and everything happens for a reason. I can’t complain though, my road hasn’t been that bumpy, I’ve truly been blessed.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a filmmaker, producer, actor and TV host, and the founder of NKIV Productions, a Los Angeles–based creative studio focused on premium storytelling across film, television, and branded content.
I specialize in developing elevated, culturally driven narratives — from scripted television concepts to high-impact interview series. I’m the creator and host of Meet the Makers, an interview platform that highlights influential creatives, founders, and cultural leaders. The series has reached over 300,000 viewers and features celebrity guests, entrepreneurs, and industry innovators across fashion, entertainment, and tech.
I studied Paris for 3.5 years during college, which deeply shaped my global perspective on storytelling. Living and creating between cultures taught me how to approach stories with nuance, sophistication, and intention. In addition, I speak 4 other languages: French, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. I have always tried to incorporate foreign languages in my content.
I’m known for:
Blending luxury aesthetics with substantive, meaningful conversation
A successful 2 years working at PBS developing documentaries & special projects
Incorporating detailed fashion and wardrobe into projects whether it’s my own or a character’s.
Working nonstop, always finding a job to do: whether it’s producing / marketing theater in L.A. or acting in commercials
Creating visually polished, brand-forward productions
Building strong relationships with high-level creatives and executives
What I’m most proud of is building NKIV Productions from the ground up — turning an idea into a growing platform that attracts respected guests, brand partners, and a loyal audience.
What sets me apart is that I don’t just create content — I build worlds.
I’m focused on storytelling that feels timeless, global, and premium — while still being culturally relevant and accessible.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
There are too many to count. Honestly, my childhood could be a movie. I think one of my favorite moments was having a Star Wars themed birthday party and all of us dressed up as characters from the movie. We all had toy lightsabers and blasters. I was Anakin and my friends at the time portrayed other characters. We sort of acted out the scenes from the movie. It was a huge celebration. My family got really creative with the party planning. There was even Alien food and obstacle courses.
