Hidden Gems: Meet Luis De Moraes of EnviroTechno Architecture Inc.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Luis De Moraes.

Hi Luis, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
After high school I emigrated from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to Los Angeles to follow my brother’s footsteps in becoming an architectural designer. I started with the interior architectural design program at UCLA Extension and continued my architectural studies at Cal Poly Pomona.

I started my architecture career at age 19, first with hospitality design, then with firms that handle other commercial and residential projects, until I opened my own boutique architectural and interior design firm in Los Angeles on the West Side and in the South Bay.

My firm specializes in a variety of architectural services for commercial and residential projects ranging from master plans, ground-up projects and remodels.

Simultaneously, I have been an instructor of design and architecture at Cal Poly Pomona and the UCLA Extension Interior Architectural Design programs for the last 35 years.

I’ve also served on the architectural committee for the City of Rolling Hills for the last four years.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Despite the fact that the profession requires long hours, late nights, and weekends of work, I’d say my career in architecture has been relatively smooth in retrospect. My meaningful relationships with my clients have made the work fulfilling. Even still, obtaining my professional licenses as architect, interior designer and credentialed LEED AP Building Design and Construction required many years of experience and preparation.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We at EnviroTechno Architecture Inc. pride ourselves in our commitment to excellence, through a hands-on approach to facilitate total satisfaction on completion.. The personal attention that we provide each client is captured through the fact that the principal architect is part of every project. Should unforeseen situations arise during the project, we handle them promptly, diligently, and professionally.

One of our greatest strengths is providing innovative and creative solutions, while navigating budgetary constraints. EnviroTechno is unique in the way we fully develop several concept options to empower our clients with greater choice to achieve their vision. We consider all factors including style, composition, site-situating and of course, monetary concerns.

Covering a vast market in residential, commercial, and innovative projects, we also provide “green” services. These encompass new and innovative environmental products, ecologically progressive technologies, and energy efficient solutions to support an efficient and healthier planet earth. Through our concerted research, we balance this greater goal with consideration for sustainability, performance of product, client desire, and financial impact.
