Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Evans.

Hi Joshua, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Joshua Evans – I am the Owner & Founder of Clear Commerce Studio in Los Angeles – a digital marketing agency specializing in website design and brand digitization. I moved to Los Angeles in 2018, after a lifetime in Hawaii, landing at LAX with three suitcases, my dog and a hunger for a new life. …and the adventure hasn’t stopped!

My professional journey began in leadership roles at Chanel USA, Gucci America, Prada USA and Prada Japan – a fashion career spanning nearly two decades across Asia-Pacific, the US Mainland and Europe. With luxury fashion as my foundation and adapting to changing technology I pivoted to digital brand management and ecommerce working for a major Los-Angeles based men’s luxury denim brand in DTLA. This paved the “red carpet” to land a dream job working for a major Los Angeles-based film academy (famous for it’s awards show) where I designed, built, deployed and managed their first online store in 2021.

I launched Clear Commerce Studio as a way to connect the human experience with technology – a hybrid between traditional and high-tech. In this niche I discovered a world where clients are seeking a convergence of the human brand experience with digital presence to amplify their brand – this is where Clear Commerce Studio can help!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My road is full of twists and turns, potholes and speedbumps – but what would life be without those unexpected plot twists? “Anything you shun will have won” is framed on my desk as a reminder that the only way to solve a problem is to face it. I was 38 when I moved to Los Angeles – an age when most people are settling down, I was starting over. A new beginning was not easy at my age, and conquering this was the spark I needed to ignite my new life in Los Angeles. I was free to design and create any life I wanted here, and I did.

“The day when you stop building your own environment…things cease to be magical, things cease to be beautiful.” I was laid off from my corporate job leaving me with a deep feeling of loss and abandonment. My job was my entire identity, and somewhere along my road I stopped creating myself and my environment. This was a reminder of why I moved to Hollywood and a command to start creating again. Establishing Clear Commerce Studio became my creative outlet and a way to help others drive their businesses to success.

Clear Commerce Studio is a boutique digital brand management agency that specializes in website design, creative brand management and digitization.

We focus on website design UX and UI with a specialization in Shopify Plus for ecommerce storefronts. Clear Commerce Studio provides brand voice and storytelling support for companies looking to digitize their in-person experience in online platforms and social media.

Clear Commerce Studio is different from other digital agencies – we are focused on quality not quantity. Our goal is to amplify brand presence in a luxury and quality way that one might experience at a luxury boutique on Rodeo Dr but with the technological support and convenience of self-checkout at your favorite big box store. Clear Commerce Studio merges the personal human experience of business with technology.

What makes you happy?
It took me 40 years to know this about myself to be true: “All the happiness you ever find lies in you.” Seeing others achieve the goals they set for themselves makes me happy. Knowing that I contributed to this give me happiness.
Sharing with people the knowledge I have gives me happiness. I am only as successful as those around me. My client’s wins are my wins.

My dogs make me happy. Monty and Penny represent the best parts of me and the best of my world. Creating moments for them in which they can thrive makes me happy. A turn around the park, sitting in the sun, a quiet moment in the shade, and a delicate nudge are things that make me happy.
