Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Liu.
Hi Angela, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Born in China, studied filmmaking in LA, and stayed for the love of the craft and the love of my life.
I’m a producer and director in the film and audio worlds, as well as a voice actor in English and Mandarin.
I’ve done shorts, features, reality shows, voice-overs, and now verticals (micro-dramas).
I am always keen on the type of stories that focus on human nature; therefore, those are the types of stories I’d like to make.
I love what I do, the filmmaking side and the voice-over side. Every day is new and different, and life is always full of surprises, challenges, and chaos.
After becoming a mom, I realized that I became a better producer and director, all thanks to the years of multitasking and mental stuggles to deal with a mini human being. If I can keep calm cooking a meal while holding a baby and answering a phone call, I can handle a how crew of adults demanding attention and putting out fires on set.
I just won the Outstanding Commercial – TV or Web in Chinese at the SOVAS Voice Arts Awards, 2026, which was a great honor to have. I also produced and directed multiple audio dramas for Magicwave, which I was extremely proud of. They are like movies for your ears.
Verticals are my life right now. I work as a creative executive producer at Falreflow app. There are also stuggles as all the productions do, but I love all the process from development all the way to deliveries and the posters.
Working in media art and creating something people enjoy and remember makes me feel like part of me could live on beyond me and my life, which also encouraged me to make meaningful and enjoyable stories.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Main struggle right now is not able to make some of the pitches I received from outside writers. Which might change one day .
Also, some of the scripts I received contain elements that don’t align with my personal values, like violence against women and children, so I always speak out about them. I’ve got push back for sure, but sometimes I get to convince people.
There are definitely other stuggles, but I always view them as challenges or a way to learn something new. I also consider myself lucky. Every time a door closes, I always find another one opens up right next to it. I guess when I’m kind to people and change how I see the world around me, helped me get more luck in life.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’ve written most of these in the previous pages. 🙂
I’m known for directing and producing a hit vertical called Fated at First Sight on Dreameshorts.
Also known as one of the Heads of Production of Flareflow app, who’s always pushing the envelope of having better content in the vertical world.
I’m the Chinese voice for Tiffany & Co. and other brands(NDA).
I’m proud of the audio dramas I directed and produced.

I’m proud of being the person who’s always helpful and trying to elevate people around me. 😀
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Being kind and influencing people to be kind matters most to me.
This includes my family, work, and friendships and all relationships.
Because when we are kind to each other, the world is a better place.
