Hi Legacy Programs, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?

Our Story

Legacy Programs, Inc was founded in 2022 by a group of dedicated family members with backgrounds in government, mental health, and customer service. Inspired by their personal experiences caring for adults with disabilities, our founders were driven by an innate desire to offer meaningful support to others facing similar challenges.

Humble Beginnings

Our journey began just three years ago with nothing more than a Jeep, 3 students that believed in us, our living room as our office and a vision for change. Since then, Legacy Programs, Inc has grown remarkably. Today, we support 37 students, operate four vans for transportation, and have expanded into a 3,000-square-foot facility designed to accommodate our growing community’s needs.

What We Do

Legacy Programs, Inc provides community integration and vocational skill building to adults with disabilities. We design person-centered plans that focus on developing life skills, fostering independence, job coaching and encouraging social engagement. By emphasizing real-world experiences, we help our students build meaningful relationships and prepare for greater autonomy in their lives.

What truly distinguishes Legacy Programs, Inc., is our unique, reciprocal learning environment. Rather than referring to those we serve as clients, we consider them students, highlighting our commitment to mutual learning and respect. Our staff members, known as coaches, learn alongside our students, creating an atmosphere of shared growth and understanding. This philosophy fosters trust, inclusivity, and genuine connection, empowering both coaches and students to thrive together. Moreover, our strong emphasis on family values, individualized care, and community involvement ensures that everyone who walks through our doors feels seen, heard, and supported in their journey.

Our Team and Approach

Our team consists of 12 dedicated staff members, whom we proudly refer to as “coaches.” At Legacy Programs, Inc, we view those we serve not as clients, but as students. We are committed to building genuine relationships, where both students and coaches learn from one another. This collaborative approach helps foster personal growth, mutual respect, and lasting connections.

Our mission

Our mission is to provide coaching and direct support services for individuals with intellectual disabilities through community integration while learning from the past, living in the present and building for the future in a unique way that is meaningful to our participants.  Legacy Programs, Inc is committed to providing a supportive, inclusive community for adults with disabilities. Through innovative programming, compassionate coaching, and a focus on relationship-building, we strive to empower every student to thrive both personally and socially.

Our path has been transformative and rewarding, marked by moments of challenge, growth, and deep fulfillment. From our modest beginnings, we have seen firsthand the impact of our work on both students and coaches. Each milestone—whether welcoming a new student, expanding our transportation fleet, or opening the doors to our dedicated facility—has been an opportunity to learn and adapt. The ongoing support from families and community partners has energized us, while the bonds forged within our program continue to inspire everyone involved. Every day, we witness new stories of perseverance and success, reinforcing our belief in the power of reciprocal learning and shared growth.

As we continue to expand, our dedication in supporting adults with disabilities remains at the heart of everything we do. We are grateful for the journey so far and look forward to building a brighter, more inclusive future together.

Looking ahead, Legacy Programs, Inc is excited to introduce new initiatives that further enrich our students’ experiences and strengthen our community. We are planning to develop specialized workshops and expand our vocational training opportunities to better support independent living and employment skills. Additionally, we aim to deepen our partnerships with local organizations and families, ensuring broader access to resources and activities that empower our students.

One of our biggest upcoming changes is the launch of a technology integration project, designed to enhance communication, learning, and accessibility for everyone involved. We are also exploring the possibility of opening additional locations, which will allow us to reach and support more adults with disabilities. These forward-thinking steps reflect our ongoing commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and the personal growth of every student and coach at Legacy Programs, Inc.
