Inspiring Conversations with Siamak Bagheri of Cedarmak Pharmacy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Siamak Bagheri.

Hi Siamak, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I came to the United States from Iran in the 1980s with nothing but a clear dream that had stayed with me since childhood. I wanted one day to become a pharmacist and own my own pharmacy. I believed deeply in the idea that hard work, persistence, and education could create opportunity, even when the starting point was uncertain.
To support myself while completing my prerequisite coursework for pharmacy school, I worked as a valet driver at a medical building. Every day, I watched healthcare professionals come and go, which reinforced my determination to be part of that world. Through a friend’s recommendation, I was given an opportunity to work as a delivery driver for a nearby pharmacy. That role became my entry point into the profession I had long aspired to join.
Over time, I moved from making deliveries to working the cash register and taking on greater responsibility. During this period, I developed a close relationship with the pharmacy’s owner, who became my mentor. He taught me not only how to run a pharmacy, how to compound, and all about medications, but also the importance of integrity, patient trust, and community-focused care. The lessons I learned under his guidance gave me the foundation and confidence to one day open my own pharmacy.
I went on to attend pharmacy school at the University of the Pacific, and after earning my degree, I returned to Los Angeles with a clear goal of building a pharmacy of my own. I opened Beverly-Sinai Pharmacy, which would later become Cedarmak Pharmacy as the business evolved and expanded.
Today, as the founder of Cedarmak Pharmacy, I carry every chapter of that journey with me. From my early days of finding my footing, learning the business from the ground up, to serving patients as a trusted healthcare provider, my story is rooted in perseverance, mentorship, and a lifelong commitment to care. Cedarmak Pharmacy is not just a business to me. It is the realization of a dream shaped by resilience and purpose.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The struggles of pharmacy are often related to managing national shortages and backorders, changing laws, and managing changes in prices for patients due to changes in payers plans and policies. We do everything we can to help our patients navigate those changes

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Cedarmak Pharmacy?
We are a local pharmacy in the west hollywood beverly hills area specializing in personalized care for patients looking for personalized and friendly care and providers that do everything in their power to get patients the medications they need. We have been in business for 30 years and still have customers that were with us when we first opened our doors. We’re licensed in 28 states, which means we can provide medications to our patients all across the country with as soon as next day delivery. We have a very popular medication compounding service. For those not familiar, medication compounding is the art and science of creating custom medications (with a prescription) for a drug product that is not available in the market. Examples would be things like creating a new capsule dose for a patient who is allergic to certain inactive ingrediants or dyes, converting oral drugs into topical creams or gels, or producing a unique dose for a patient that the manufacteror is not making (extra low dose or extra high dose for example). We know that some patients struggle with prescription copays in the rapidly changing healthcare atmosphere and economy, which is why we are proud to be developing on a subscription based payment plan to cap drug costs for many patients, planning to launch in 2026

What matters most to you? Why?
Health issues can be very scary for many people. What matters most to us is being able to provide informative and caring guidance to patients through their health journey. We keep a sharp eye out for patients to ensure they understand their medications and health concerns to live a safe and healthy life.
